Did I mess up where I started my painting?

I’m sure this has been asked before but the questions I’ve seen people were smart and asked before they began.

I’m used to doing small, lesser quality paintings in my lap. I’m doing Christmas Ornament by Theresa Donahue McManus (22x22) and am over 1/3 of the way done. I’m used to starting bottom right since I am right handed so I have a place to rest my hand and peel the film up. I don’t have to do that with DAC paintings because of the sectioned film but it didn’t occur to me to do anything differently.

I’m at my kitchen table and am now having to reach a ways. I can always turn it but the middle is what I’m going to struggle with.

Any advice (besides starting at the top next time)?

I’m relatively new to diamond painting and DAC in general, but for me it’s definitely the Jeremy Neill cats they still sell. (Keep The Light On and Finder’s Keepers.) I’d love the ones they don’t but I’ve never bought from anyone selling them and they don’t seem to be popular with destashers. (Not talking resellers/scalpers.)

I don’t know why but something in my soul yearns for those cats. I’m sure they’ll be “boring” as far as colors go, but they’re just so… enchanting.

What about you? What is it that makes you *need* it?

As the title says I’ve only ever done DD and DAC. I’m sure there’s other great companies out there and I’m looking to expand my options. Who else do you recommend, and why?

Thank you!!

I had a $25 off coupon from the scratch card thingy on their site that could only be used yesterday (as that’s when I ‘scratched’ it) so I got this $24.99 painting of an adorable little fox for just shipping! I’m so excited to get it!

Do I just work on the square ones really slow?

I had a kind person gift me 2 large paintings I’m working on still (slowly but surely) but had never purchased one from their site before. I did do the Vader (round) one from Walmart and loved it.

What was your first purchase?

How long does it take you to complete a medium-large (large to me!) one?

The square I’m working on is 22x22. I’m worried the glue will dry out, I’m working so slow. (I only perforate and peel up the plastic. I don’t pull it off all the way.)

Tl;dr: got this for just shipping cost.

What was your first purchase from DAC? How long do bigger pieces take you to complete?
