What are actually the differences between being a part and full time employee?

I’m a new hire at a store that’s opened fairly recently, and I’m already getting scheduled 40 hour weeks, and I’m aware that both part time and full time employees get benefits after a certain amount of time worked.

So if part time can still get scheduled that many hours and still have benefits, how is it different than full time in anything other than name?

Is the only difference that one is a guarantee of a minimum of 40 hours a week while the other isn’t? Or are there more differences than that?

The best way that I’ve ever had mackerel (west african stew inspired pb and fish sandwich)

a nice, savory sandwich

you can still taste the meatiness of the fish, but the peanut butter does a great job of covering up the slight fishy taste that mackerel might have. The spices I added give it a slight, pleasant kick. Anyone who has ever had like, peanut butter chicken, or a satay would know how meat and peanut butter and spice go well, similar sort of deal with this!

lightly toast your bread

spread peanut butter on both slices of bread (as a pre-diabetic, my peanut butter has no added sugar, so I’m not sure what sort of difference a regular peanut butter might make, it would probably make the sandwich taste more sweet)

add the tinned mackerel (the mackerel i have in this tin is spiced and also packed with a little bit of tomato, cucumber, and hot pepper. I think all those things made a great addition, which is probably why I’d get that Nuri tin again the next time I do this because I like those inclusions)

squeezed a little bit of lemon juice over the fish (prolly optional)

seasoned the fish and peanut butter using onion powder, cayenne pepper, paprika, red pepper flakes, and a dash of hot sauce

and that's it!

UPDATE: I’m that non-Belgian who asked earlier about how to make pêche au thon

Hi! I don’t know how many of you remember when I asked about this about a week or so ago, but I got around to making them and I did in fact, actually end up really liking these :-)

Like over forty of you commented on my last post about these earlier so I basically took a combination of what I had at hand from everyone’s pieces of advice on how to make the tuna salad for these and they turned out great! (and as suggested, I had these with fries)

I’ve already made these twice since then and will probably make these again in the future, and now I have a good tuna salad recipe to make other stuff like sandwiches or onigiri too :-)

Anyway, thanks to everyone who commented on the last post, just thought I’d show results as part of my thanks too

Spicy tuna melt 🔥

I know it’s a little sloppy, but probably one of the best things I’ve ever made with a tin of fish

SPICY TUNA SALAD
-Tin (fishwife albacore tuna in spicy olive oil, but similar tins of tuna could also work)
-one boiled egg
-kewpie mayo
-a little dijon mustard
-lemon juice
-hot sauce (to taste, I used texas pete’s)
-salt
-black pepper
-parsley
-paprika
-red pepper flakes

And then I just used some regular kraft singles for the cheese in the melt, and added in some cherry tomatoes that I sliced up. 10/10, this was really good and I’d make this again

I’m not Belgian and I don’t live there. But I want to try to make pêche au thon

I like fish and seafood! And I’ve noticed that certain pairings of fish can go with certain fruits (like salmon and blackberry as an example), so when I heard about pêche au thon, I wanted to give it a try.

I think I already bought the correct kind of peaches for this (halved, in syrup, came in a jar). But I was wondering about tuna since there are so many different kinds. What kind of tuna are you supposed to use? I have a tin of white tuna, does that work?

What do you guys normally put into the tuna salad part?

What do you do with herring? What makes it really good?

I've gotten into tinned fish about a month ago, and I fell in hard and deep. I'm already at the point where I'm having a tin or two nearly every day and fish has pretty much became my primary protein

I've tried many tinned fish and overall liked nearly everything I had. Salmon, trout, mackerel, tuna, sardines, squid, anchovies, etc. But the only one I've had that I just could not get myself to like at all so far is herring.

I've tried two tins of herring. The King Oscar kipper snacks in olive oil, and the Polar herring in spicy tomato sauce. For both I couldn't get more than a couple bites in before I didn't want any more of it. Are either of those considered good, or are there much better tins of herring out there?

I know that it could be possible that I'll just never like herring and there's nothing really wrong with that, but what herring tins do you guys get and what do you eat herring with that improves it before I just write the whole fish off?

Starting at a brand new store that is opening and got told part time benefits after just 60 days. Has this actually been anyone’s experience?

I know that from what it shows online I see it actually being 180, or when you hit 600 hours whichever comes first.

But when I asked them about when full time positions will start opening at the store and when part timers will start getting benefits, I was told it may not be until a year before this store may start posting full time openings, but that there’s a high likelihood we will get 35-40 hours a week in anyway and that our part-time benefits will be after just sixty days.

Does this being a new store staffed by only part timers to start make a difference here, and has anyone actually got their part time benefits so soon after starting? It’d make sense if they want to actually keep employees at this new location, but I need to ask.

Are there actually any groups out there that only have three members in them?

I know that there can sometimes be subgroups within a larger group that consist of only three people, but that’s not what I’m talking about here.

I’m just asking because when I watched K-Pop Demon Hunters, HUNTR/X having only three members to me felt uniquely small for a girl group. The Saja Boys having their five members on the other hand felt more common/realistic.

Whenever I try to think of what are the smallest K-Pop groups that I can come up with, the ones that I do all still have a minimum of four members in them.

So, are there actually any groups out there that only have three members? And how established and actually successful are they?

High white blood cell/platelet count? Anyone else?

So I had an appointment with my doctor recently, complete with bloodwork. Metformin and diet changes got my a1c a little bit lower. Great!

But there was another thing my doctor noticed in my results and it’s that I had a higher count of white blood cells and platelets than what is considered typical. She said that counts are usually elevated when someone is fighting something like an infection, or right after they had just gotten over being sick.

But I haven’t been sick recently, and high counts of white blood cells and platelets have been consistent in my lab results for like six years now.

My doctor says she thinks it’s unrelated to PCOS/PMOS, but when looking online I saw mention that it could be related to metabolic issues, which for someone with PCOS/PMOS would make sense. But I got that from google’s AI, so it could maybe be taken with a grain of salt.

But does anyone else have this show up on their bloodwork? I just wanna see if there might be a connection actually. My doctor said it could very well be nothing to worry about at all, but she’s thinking of referring me to a hematologist just because it might be good to see why that might be happening

  4. Dog is not part of outfit

You can share your concert fits too if you’re comfortable :-)

I have one extra GA ticket that I am selling through Stubhub, since Stubhub is the platform I originally bought it off of. I am willing to negotiate and adjust/lower the price because I really want to get rid of this ticket and not have it just go to waste
