finally in the "normal" weight zone after a long hard battle

today is the first day in over 9 years i'm the "normal" weight range on the BMI chart. i (5'7 female) was 197 at christmas and today i saw 157 on the scale. i cried a happy tear, it's been a lot of hard work physically and a lot of determination to get here. Working out is just a normal routine thing for me now. i'm back into running (something i haven't done since my 20s) and honestly at 41 im feeling better and looking better than i have in many years. had a couple of negative nancy's in the beginning tell me "oh, you're over 40....may as well just accept your body bc it's too hard to lose weight at that age" . it wasn't any easier or any harder to lose than it was when i was young. simple calorie counting, eating clean, working out with a mix of cardio and strength training got me here in about 6 months. NEVER give up yall!!!!!

.2 away from "normal weight"

i know it seems silly bc i think the BMI scale is bogus, but i've been .2 away from "normal weight" for 3 weeks now. i've been packing muscle on so i'm trying to ignore it but ugh this plateau!!! im so close to my goal weight. i have lost 37 lbs and it MELTED off in the last 5 months but its definitely slowed down. however im looking leaner and my clothes are getting huge. i've always had a muscly build since i was a dancer (ballet not stripper) and everyone tells me i look great and should be happy at where im at, but im always aiming for better. Any tips to get out of a plateau are appreciated.

about to quit due to constipation

these meds have been amazing to stop my binge eating and late night snack attacks. i'm on month 6 and im down 36 lbs .

that being said im at a breaking point with the constipation. it got to where i wouldn't poop for 3 days , but this past week has been horrible . i'm doing everything they say to do. i'm eating a ton of fiber. drinking water literally all day. fiber gummies, miralax. i run 4-5 miles 4 times a week.
i've been miserably bloated now for days. the scale has been up 3 lbs for a week and i think it's constipation bloat. I'm on the verge of going to a doctor if this doesn't stop. but i think it's time to quit the meds. i'm so worried ill start thinking about food nonstop again, sweet tooth cravings will return and my inability to stop myself from
zombie walking to my fridge after midnight . i am 15 lbs away from my goal weight but im getting worried about my health.

has anyone stopped cold turkey with these? anyone else experienced horrific constipation? seriously, i feel like i look like ive got a tiny baby bump.

diet / nutrition for losing while becoming more active

hey yall. I've been on the fitness train this whole year and i (5'7 female) have gone from 197 lbs to 160. I still have about 15 lbs to go, but I've become so active my current diet isn't cutting it anymore.

in the beginning i focused on high protein / low carb around 1400-1500 calories a day. I was working out a few times a week doing 45 minutes on a treadmill and some light weights.

cut to today. I am running 5 miles 3-4 times a week. Going to a strength training class 3-4 times a week. cycling on my non running days 20-30 miles with around 2k-3k elevation gain (i live in the mountains). i am also starting to incorporate power yoga . I was a big runner in my 20s and now at 40 i'm starting to love it again. that being said, i am feeling very weak and exhausted most days after my workouts, and some days my workouts feel not my best bc my energy level is so low. i know how to eat to lose weight, but i do not know how to eat to lose, gain muscle, burn fat, and have the energy for my workouts. i've got a big bike trip coming up and need to be doing long distance days but with my current 1500 cal diet, im lacking the energy.

admittedly i dont really know how to measure "good carbs" . looking for any advice. i would love to increase my running distance, cycling distance and pack on a bit more muscle while shedding the last 15 lbs.

30 lbs down as of today but feeling a bit down

wondering if anyone has felt this way.

at christmas i (5'7 female) was at 195 lbs. it was the most i've ever weighed. I remember it was unusually warm and i had nothing but baggy hoodies and leggings to wear. all my summer clothes were far too tight. i was miserable. my stomach was like a basketball (i tend to gain most weight in my middle)

in january i immediately got my shit together. started eating clean, working out with a healthy mix of cardio and strength training. I started using a glp1 which has been amazing with food cravings . but i have been putting the work in , i work out about 6 days a week.

cut to today i am officially 30 lbs down! i feel lighter, faster, my stomach has gone down sooo much . BUT im still in the "overweight" category of the BMI chart at 165. (but no longer obese!!)

despite 30 lbs being a big achievement- i looked at my progress photos and i really can't see the huge difference yet. Clothes are fitting that used to not fit and that's great but idk why i got a little let down . I know i still have some ways to go. Id like to be at my healthy weight of 145-150 lbs.

anyone ever felt like their big achievements are just like throwing a chair off the titanic, like it doesn't really make much of a difference? it's taken 5 months to get here . i am being patient , i know it takes time. But idk. i guess i thought 30 lbs would look more dramatic than it does. I went to a wedding the other week and saw people i have not seen in a while and no one commented . i was a bit disappointed.

anyways. just some thoughts, thanks for reading
