Food noise is creeping back…

I’ve been on Ozempic for a year and a half, and have lost 30 lbs and my type 2 diabetes is perfectly under control. Up till now, food noise was gone. Thank goodness for that!

I currently take .5 mgs, and I thought I could stay at that low dose for the long term.

But over the past month, the food noise has started sneaking in.

Additionally I now have to make a conscious effort to keep my portions small, where a few months ago I instinctively desired small portions.

Bottom line, it now takes a daily effort to control my healthy eating, where it used to be blessedly effortless.

Have you experienced this? Should I tell my doc I want to increase my dose?

Cant get below 240

Hey all. Quick backstory. And there is stuff left out to make this quick. Started at 280-290 pounds. Got my dr to prescribe wegovy. Titrated all the way up to the make dose. Maybe lost 10 pounds in a year. Switched to zepbound, Titrated up to the max dose oever a year. Got down to about 250. Added an appetite supressing peptide. Got down to 245. I fluctilate between 242-248. AS of the first of this year my insurance no longer covered zepbound so I switched to some online sources with mixed results.

Started taking another peptide. Haven't lost weight but gaining muscle at the gym. I still want to get down to 220'ish. I have been paying roughly $10 per mg for this peptide. .

I was just told to check out this forum . SO feel free to dm me with any fitness advice on getting down to 220'ish. I am 6'4", male, mid 40's

Thanks

Travis

My father’s Tirzepatide efficiency denial

My dad (+60 M) has a couple of health conditions, some of which are chronic. Cardiac insufficiency/failure, sleep apnea, obesity being some of them.

Started him some months ago on Tirzepatide, after discussing it at length with our GP. First 2 months on 2.5mg, 3 months now on 5mg.

He obviously started to feel better, inflammation came down, his joints ache lesser. His VERY sedentary lifestyle became slightly less sedentary in the sense that he actually started sporadically going to a swimming pool (he swam in his teenage years). Last time he did any kind of physical activity until now I think it was 12-15 years ago. He obviously subconsciously started to eat less and even managed to lose 8 kgs (17lbs) in this time without having any nutrition and food knowledge or will to learn. He actually thinks “fruit juices are healthy because they’re fruit” ffs. So he gulps store bought “100% orange juice” like its water. Absolutely no point in debating these kind of things with him.

Now at the point of this lengthy post. He refuses to acknowledge the merit and the efficacy of the drug I’m paying out of pocket for him and personally administer every week when I go visit my parents. He just thinks he managed to lose that weight, feel less painful, sleep better, feel slightly more joyful and actually swim on his own. He just told me he could just refuse a second portion of food without the drug. He obviously cannot, he’s been obese for the last 30 years.

A lot of times when we have an argue, he threatens to stop the medication like it’s something that will hurt me instead of him. He’ll back above where we started in no time because of his absolutely zero self control when it comes to food. But what scares me is that all the cardiac benefits will stop and that’s bad in his condition.

How do I reason with him on this matter? Anyone with a similar situation where you genuinely want to help one of your parents but they’re just ungrateful and don’t see the benefits of it?

Exercise consistency

Is it “good enough” to do 30 squats and continue with my day. Then later 30 wall pushups, curls and so on all just with hours between?

I’m really struggling having solid amounts of time for consistent exercise but fitting them in through the day is possible. My son is special needs, I work full time, and just genuine consistent time I cannot get managed well enough. I actually like it this way too when comparing to when I did have time, but will guess the exercises are less effective than all together?

GLP-1 probiotic , is there any harm in taking this?

Before you say it, I completely understand that this will not have the same effect as Ozempic (and other GLP-1’s). What I’m asking is, is there any harm in taking this? My brother purchased it and says he wants to try it out. Wondering if anyone has any feedback or if they tried it.

Not losing weight after 3 months - any tips or similar experiences?

I started compounded tirzepatide in early April and have worked my way up to 7mg but have yet to lose significant weight. In early May I was at 156 and yesterday I was at 152 (I usually fluctuate between 150 and 155) I am 33 F and 5'2 and should be around 120 lbs according to doctors.

I'm eating less and sleeping poorly. I track my calories (thoroughly! with a food scale! I know sauces count, snacks count, etc) and usually eat between 1200 and 1500. I walk and bike often (live in NYC and don't have a car), with a min of 7,000 steps per day and usually between 10,000 and 15,000.

In the past when I had been at a lower weight I was in the gym for hours every day, but it's just not possible with my current job. I'm also getting sick often in general, but particularly when I try to increase exercise or cut calories to a strict 1200 or below.

Kind of at my wits end. Did it take anyone else this long to start seeing results? Is there anything major I'm missing? Are there any medical issues that could cause this to not work for me?

I'm really shocked because usually I am very sensitive to medications - I have always had to take the smallest possible dose of antidepressants, ADHD meds, sleep meds, etc and sometimes even the smallest dose was too much for my system to handle. So it has been really strange to have to keep increasing the dose when I see smaller doses work for other people.

I was hoping to feel better about my body this summer so it's a huge bummer to not see any progress. I'm feeling really discouraged.

localized injection-site reaction

Has anyone experience a localized injection-site reaction? I experienced one yesterday following my injection. It was red but did not itch. Today there was a little bruising and then about an hour ago the area became red, raised, and itchy. I also have MCAS and am prone to hives. This was probably my 7th or 8th time injecting myself total and in the same area-my stomach. Any tips, suggestions, or just hearing from people who can relate would be awesome. I’m finally starting to see results and overall feeling good on tirz.

In a month-long plateau

I posted on this sub on December 2025 back when I was considering starting tirzepatide. The comments were a huge, huge help and I’ve since lost 71 lbs through tirzepatide, calorie deficit and strength training. I’m currently on 7.5mg and I still have like 130lbs more to go so I’m trying not to let it get to my head.
The problem is, I’ve been near the same weight since June 9th, fluctuating around 3 lbs. I’ve had minor stalls here and there throughout my journey but it was always because I was being inconsistent, or it was resolved soon enough. This is truly the first time where I’m doing everything correct and the scale is still showing no signs of moving. I last took my measurements on may 16th and they’ve decreased a bit but I can’t be sure if it has gone down since the plateau started or not. I know the go-to advice here is to wait it out but I’ve been waiting for almost a month now. It is extremely frustrating to work so hard and see the scale at the same frickin place everyday.
So what can I do at this point? I’ve been on 7.5mg for 9 weeks now but I don’t want to up my dose just yet, I just got used to the new side effects. Also I don’t want to make a habit out of increasing my dose every time something’s not going right. I won’t have that backup once I stop using it, and I don’t want to regain even a pound of weight back this time. I strength train 4x a week followed by 40-45 minutes of cardio. Other than that, my city is not very walkable and I don’t really have the time to go for 10k steps everyday alongside meal prepping and gym. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Starting again after 6 wks

So I started Tirz on March 17th. I was on it for 2mos and lost 17 lbs. I upped the dose and felt like crap so I stopped mid May. Now I’m back to the beginning with 2.5 mgs again. I don’t feel terrible this time. Should I just stay on this dose for as long as I can if I keep losing? My prescription said to increase every 4 wks but when I did it was horrible. Thanks!

What does good GLP1 support look like when nothing is technically wrong?

A lot of the day to day stuff with these meds happens in a weird gray area. It is rarely a massive emergency, nothing is technically broken, but you still need a sounding board. What kind of support is actually useful when you are in that space? Do you message your doctor, talk to a dietitian, scroll through community tips or just need to know what is normal?

Yesterday’s chicken

It’s undeniable that the GLP helps with appetite control, but the thing I hate most is the delayed gastric emptying.

It’s forcing me to change my meal timing and strategy and I kind of hate it. I often like to do intermittent fasting with one meal a day at dinner time but if I do this, I eat a fair size volume of food. Even if I finish dinner by 6pm, it does not digest overnight and I am still throwing up yesterday‘s chicken in the morning, and one time even felt rather food poisoned, like it turned rancid in my body.

I feel like I have to be done eating for the day by like 3pm and that is hard to achieve on regular days.

I guess this is one part gripe and one part looking for other people’s experience with the delayed gastric emptying.

UPDATE: I appreciate all the responses, thanks folks. It seems I am going to have to alter my habits (the audacity!) and step away from my OMAD habits… which is hard, but I’ll do my best. The avoidance of recasting yesterday’s undigested chicken is a fair motivation though!

Should I take anything to strengthen fingernails

40M I am unsure if it is related to Crohn's, my job, or me taking Wegovy (GLP-1) but lately I have been noticing that my fingernails are getting broken easier than before. My job is pretty labour intensive and it is only at quiet moments, I look down and see a chunk missing or a bit on the end has been chipped off like chipping a tooth. I have been on Imuran (Azathioprine) 4x50mg since Oct 2023, and take Zyrtec (antihistamines) MagMin (Magnesium) Turmeric, Fibre and Vitamin D daily.

Should I be taking any supplement to strengthen my fingernails?

Is this happening for anyone else?

GLP-1 Has helped me so much

At the beginning of the year I finally addressed all my mental health issues and got medicated. Then I decided shit, might as well try semaglutide.

I've been on semaglutide for about 9 months now and have lost a little over 30 pounds just by eating less. (Literally almost no exercise, I sit at a desk at home all day for work, so the weight loss was just by virtue of eating smaller portions of the crap food that I already eat.)

Now that I am on the maximum dose, I decided to start going to the gym again. I'm on my second week at the gym and second week tracking my calories. I've tried this soooo many times but given up after a few days. The food noise was always stronger than my will.

Now that I have the GLP1, it all feels so attainable now. I've never felt so positive about getting healthy, it's never felt so doable until now. It's so easy to count calories when I don't want the worst possible food choices ALL THE TIME and I don't want to constantly binge. I've cut a lot of crap out of my diet (I still eat stuff that isn't great for me, but I'm doing way better now that I was a year ago)

I almost feel halfway normal. I feel good. I still have a LOT of weight to lose, but it doesn't feel so impossible or far away anymore. I'm so greatful that this medicine exists.

Best foods/supplements for energy?

I'm on week 11 of a glp1 clinical trial and have ZERO energy. I'm barely eating anything; it's hard to get anything down. If I can hardly eat anything, what should it be? And are there supplements that have helped you combat the fatigue and lethargy? Thank you for any advice you can give.

What next.

I’ve been taking Tirz for a year. Started 232 pounds, now 180. 53M and 6’1. Loving being thin and like losing weight and getting back into running. Currently taking 10mg Tirz. I’d like to get to a weight to maintain -175 pounds? And switch to Reta to maintain. Quite obsessed by feeling good and light. Anyone similar?
