I've been to Bali a couple of times but usually stay around Ubud/Sanur/N.Lembongan.

A friend and I are coming back and she has booked a new deal at La Mewali Resort & Spa Canggu. I know nothing about Canggu other than its a traffic jam full of influencers and Instagrammers.

Can anyone give me any tips on places to check out or to avoid? Just a general lay of the land, as in what's the most popular areas. Are there certain areas dedicated to shopping, eating, bars, nightclubs etc or is it all just mixed up all over the place?

Any helpful hints or tips I should be aware of would be most appreciated .

I don't get it. As a small business owner, why would a business allow a salary sacrifice that attracts FBT?

So, the employee get a lower taxable income and the employer pays extra tax for the privilege? Instead of paying $10k wages, they end up paying $18k.

What am I missing? Is this just for big corporations to attract high earning candidates?

I just don't get it. From the ATO:

Example Calculation:

If an employer covers $10,000 in school fees, the FBT is calculated as:

Grossed-up value: $10,000 x 1.8868 = $18,868

FBT payable: $18,868 x 47% = $8867
