How to switch from a painterly style to a more graphic one?

Basically i struggle a lot with making art that is more line focused. It's easier for me to put some random blobs of shapes and color and turn it into something more or less defined and rendered, or make a rough sketch and finish it by skipping the cleanup and lineart etc. I just like to mush paint around i guess

However, I don't really like the style i get. It's not terrible but I want to be more versatile and also be able to draw with more focus on lines, and stuff that doesn't have much rendering, like line drawings for a tattoo for example

I know the answer is just to practice practice practice but maybe someone has an idea of a smarter way to achieve this than just brute forcing it? like what exercises and studies could help with that, what could i change about my approach or just whatever suggestions that come to mind

because rn whenever i try to draw differently i don't make much progress or often revert back to old methods without realizing

Can you be bipolar if you're not impulsive?

Hi everyone! My psychiatrist thinks that i might have bipolar, but I'm not quite sure. So i wanted to hear your thoughts and if someone had a similar experience.

I've been severely depressed my whole life and this has ruined a lot of things for me. But i still have periods where i feel fine or great, and they follow a pretty consistent pattern - 4-6 months of depression, then 1-2 months I'm better. During them sometimes i just feel fine or kinda bored and apathetic, but it's manageable, but most of the time it feels like i experience hypomania - I'm super energized, have rapid thoughts and a lot of inspiration that it makes me pace constantly and it's impossible to fall asleep, so i ran on 3-5 hours of sleep and feel fine, all the other hours i do something, usually I'm super obsessed over one interest but sometimes i do a ton of things at once. It feels super great and like I'm unstoppable and i think I'm the coolest smartest etc person on earth and no one can compare. I can forget to eat and drink and do basic things because I'm too focused on whatever I'm doing.

However I'm not very impulsive and these periods didn't cause much harm to me (the only exception is that two recent episodes left me with a couple of injuries but nothing too serious). It's quite the opposite - they are the only reason i was able to finish university and get and maintain a good job, or get any good at any of my interests. I might get the urge to do something stupid but i can control myself and not do it.

And for that reason I'm not sure if i have it? For now I've been diagnosed with recurrent depression, but we will be discussing it more on the next appointment. Idk i just feel like i might just get a bit carried away after a long and hard depression, and so when something finally feels fun it's hard to not put your whole self into it.

I thought i might have adhd because i was hyperactive as a child and super emotional with no self control, but I don't think I'm like that now.

I've been put on lamotrigine and sertraline, at first i felt a lot worse, then had some mood swings, like a couple of days I'm fine and then the next couple of days I'm depressed like before meds. But i feel like I'm stabilizing a bit now.
