Do you have any old 4k/5k iMacs laying around?

I’m building a companion app for your old iMac to connect to your new MacBook Pro and act as an external monitor for both mirrored and extended mode.

They connect via a wired connection, either thunderbolt if available, or Ethernet cable (on my new MacBook Pro M5 I use an Ethernet cable to usbc adapter, into my old iMac Ethernet port). The app also functions on intel/Silicon series MacBooks too, if you have one of those laying around and want to use it.

Currently at 99% development complete, hoping to have the app and website full launched by early this week. It comes with a full access 7 day free trial, no need to give any credit card or information to access it. Just download the apps! I need as many people to test as I can get, so please take advantage! Zero expectations for purchase, just hoping to get some testers on board!

Right now you can sign up for the waitlist at the website, or if you’d rather just wait a few days that’s fine too! But if you sign up I won’t spam you, I’ll just send you one email once the app is launched! 🙂

Older 4k/5k iMac as a display/monitor

I had a few laying around and thought it would be awesome to be able to use them as displays without needing to rip out the board and jank it up.

So I built a pretty cool little utility that allows you to use these older iMacs as an external monitor (extended and mirrored) using either a Thunderbolt cable or an Ethernet cable and adapter to usb C.

It works fantastic currently, just adding some final touches and then it’s ready to go. It doesn’t have lag like other versions in the market, you don’t need a USB dongle or anything like that, you just install an app on the Host and and app on the Viewer side and then connect them.

Would there be any interest in this if I were to release it?

Multiple Codex Accounts

Question for the group. If I have separate work and personal ChatGPT/Codex accounts, am I able to log in and out of them in Codex CLI tool without worrying about breaking any ToS/rules?

I don't want either account being banned, but I'd like to be able to keep my usage separate for work and personal projects. I do all of my work and personal on one computer.

Thanks!
