So lost planning

I’m usually a wiz at planning itineraries. I do everything on my own. But I want to go to east Africa for my honeymoon and I’m stumped.

The things I do know: I would love it planned for me soup to nuts. Just a touring company that tells you where and when to go.

I want to see the big five.

I want to spend time with the people and see their culture.

I am considering a gorilla trek.

I am willing to spend between 10-12k per person.

I’d like to go for 10-14 days depending on price.

Leaning toward Kenya but wonder if adding Tanzania is worth it.

I contacting a couple of the big name operators already go2safari and yellow zebra but wanted to get opinions from those who know more than me.

Thank you!

Looking for fun, adventurous activities in the US

My sisters and I like getting together for a yearly (often more) trip where we do some type of unique activity. In the past we have:

White water rafted in PA
Crawled through caves in VA
Walked under the Bridge in WV
Stayed at an adult summer camp in NY where we zip lined and did a giant swing
Drove snow mobiles in NH
Snow tubed NH
Rode a mechanical bull in KY
Cruise to Bermuda to helmet dive
And we’ve also done a few supernatural things like sleeping in a haunted hotel and visiting haunted asylums.

We live in NY (with the exception of one who lives in MA) and have one sister who is afraid of heights (getting her on that bridge was a feat itself) and doesn’t do planes. We always road trip it, farthest being Tennessee so far. I’m trying to find some other ideas for future trips that when I tell people they respond, “Omg that is so cool”. I’ve tried google searching but all I seem to find is places to go that are near to see, but not a thing to do. TIA!

Book through Expedia but now second guessing myself

I have used Expedia to book hotels many, many times and have never had a problem. I have heard stories of other people encountering issues but in all my years of using the site, it’s been smooth sailing. I just booked an AI room for $350 less than it would be direct at Cocobay. The savings is great but now I’m all in my head wondering, “Why is it SO much cheaper?” The perks of booking direct aren’t really that much better. Possible room upgrade, steak and shrimp added to all inclusive, soft drinks in the minibar, best available room and “etc.” none of those really seem like I’m missing out.

Through Expedia, I can still cancel a couple weeks before my trip and still get 100% of my money back. It’s for my minimoon so not likely going to need to cancel.

Would you keep it as is or eat the few hundred bucks in savings and booked direct? I’m already at the cheapest it can be with the 210+ days and honeymoon code.

Mini honeymoon recommendations please

Hello. I am looking to do either a three or four night mini honeymoon in May next year. Amount of days depends on how much time I can get off from work (currently in the process of finding out). My future husband and I will be traveling from NY and plan to fly nonstop as I want the bulk of our time relaxing, not traveling. I took a quick gander at the spreadsheet but I honestly just don’t even know where I went to go. Currently Antigua is probably what I’ve looked at most, but other considerations are anything within a 4-5 hour flight time. I’ve been to a few Caribbean islands already on cruises and did sandals in Jamaica.

I’d appreciate it if you give me an idea of what has the nicest beaches and I guess best bang for my buck. I’ve read DR is decent if you’re on a budget so that’s a contender. I am also considering Barbados and St. Lucia.

What I’d love is an adults only resort with different restaurant options, entertainment, resort activities like snorkeling and kayaking or something, and the opportunity to do excursions (though this isn’t a deal breaker). Spa would be a lovely bonus.

It would be great to have a room overlooking the water with a private pool.

I’d like to keep the price for just the resort under 3,500.

Thank you. Sorry if it’s too vague or the parameters are too wide.

Senior dog needs pain relief

My Great Dane/Labrador mix is 14 years old. He has chronic pancreatitis and is on prescription food. He currently eats hills science diet Z/D. He can only tolerate the dry food, any bit of wet and it causes diarrhea. He just had vestibular disease and is very slowly recovering. Obviously for a while he has been slowing down but he hasn’t been overly old man dog like. He was still trotting at times though full on running has been beyond him for a while. I was giving him glucosamine supplements previous to his illnesses that seemed to help him be a bit more active. Now that he cannot have animal protein, I’m looking for a supplement to give him to help ease the pain in his joints without causing stomach upset. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.
