Is an estate executor, who is also one of the beneficiaries, allowed to drive the cars and move into the house before the assets have been distributed? (Michigan/US)

Both my parents recently passed. They own a very well maintained 2,500 sq ft house on 12 acres of land. The estate lawyer says we only need to get one appraisal on the value of the house and property. My older sister, who is the executor, agrees and doesn't want to have to use the estate's money to pay for more than one appraisal if it's not required. I think it's smarter to get two or even three separate appraisals to accurately determine the true value of the house. AITAH for arguing about this with her?

Edit for more details - My parents bought the land and built the house in 1991. They have been the sole owners the entire time so there's no history of previous appraisals or sale values. My sister wants to live in the house and I want to be paid for my share.
