14F. This is my second time writing on this subreddit, and to be honest this was a tough write for me. To start this off, I’d like to say my relationship status for better context of the situation. I dated my now girlfriend for a few short months a few years ago, it didn’t work out and we promised to try again. After my long term relationship ended, I agreed to date again at her request. We recently had a tough conversation about how a relationship is for two people and I need to put in more effort. She said she felt like she was doing all of the work, and I accepted the criticism and felt guilty about it. I promised to do better, and over the past week or so I have been consciously trying to get over my avoidance and make this work out. I feel like I’ve tried everything, and I get little or dry responses. Silly relationship trends, asking how her day went, matching profile pictures, mentioning her in my bios across multiple platforms, appreciation posts, sending couple videos, ETC! I feel like I’m doing something wrong, she might be touchy after my avoidance but I feel butthurt. I’m trying to change for the better, and I feel like I might be pushing too hard, but I don’t know what to do from this point on. I asked her if she wanted to participate in a trend with me and post it, to which she told me no and that she doesn’t want other people to know we’re back together. I’m confused. I’m getting mixed signals, advice?
14 F. For as long as I can remember I’ve had difficulty regulating and processing my anger. I grew up in an abusive home, to put it simply I won’t go into detail. About the time I turned 12, my anger went from being taken out on other people and turned to being towards myself. I grew up as THAT kid. Throwing chairs, meltdowns, crying, etc. ( I’m neurodivergent and have c-ptsd due to my trauma, please be kind. ) Now, I wake up with bruises over my legs, arms, head, and my hair split due to tugging it out. I’m pretty active ( varsity softball + 2 club teams, marching band, speech and debate ). I can mask my neurodivergence better as I’ve gotten older and blend in relatively well to the usual crowd. Due to the signs of my issues being visible due to my uniform and summer coming up, I’m trying to stop. For myself. I’m not sure how to go on from this point, ( coping mechanisms, techniques, whatever. )
