A Walk Down Pixel Lane - Photo Dump

Sharing a few moments I caught on camera throughout the years.

Photography is just a hobby for me, but it’s the best way to slow down and appreciate all the beautiful details around Kuwait.

2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track Edition - NEED HELP

Hey Reddit,

I recently acquired a 2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track edition (Automatic). A friend of mine owed me some money and asked me to take the car to settle the debt.

This is my first time owning a Hyundai, let alone a Genesis Coupe. Honestly, I’m really liking the car so far—the handling and power delivery are great. Right now, I have a 2008 Honda CR-V for family duties and a 1997 Honda Accord Coupe (CD5) as my daily commuter. I’m seriously considering selling the Honda Coupe and keeping the Genny as my new daily.

However, I’ve run into a few major roadblocks and could really use your advice.

The Situation: The car is nearing 200,000 kms. I like all my cars to have up-to-date maintenance records, but my friend didn't have any to give me. I wanted to start fresh by establishing a proper maintenance schedule, starting with a full transmission service.

The Parts Issue (Kuwait): I visited the local dealership, and to my surprise, parts are either completely out of stock or outrageously expensive. Just the transmission mount and the transmission filter/pan assembly would cost about 75% of the total value of the car!

I tried going to independent shops, but they literally say "no parts" to my face the second they hear the name "Genesis." It seems this car is just not popular at all in Kuwait.

The Mechanical Issue: I’m experiencing a noticeable driveshaft wobble when accelerating past 40 km/h. I suspect the center support bearing is shot, but I've also heard it could be the transmission mount or maybe the differential mount/bushings.

My Questions for the Community:

  1. Is it worth it? Given the mileage (200k kms) and my situation, is this car a reliable enough platform worth spending money on and keeping as a daily driver?
  2. Sourcing Parts: Since I can't get reasonably priced parts in Kuwait, where is the best/most cost-efficient place to order OEM or good aftermarket parts online that ship internationally?
  3. The Wobble: For those who have experienced the >40 km/h wobble, does this sound like the center bearing, the trans mount, or the diff bushings? How should I go about diagnosing this?

Thanks for taking the time to read. Any advice, links, or insights would be hugely appreciated!

TLDR: Got a 2010 Gen Coupe 3.8 AT (200k kms) to settle a debt. Love the car, want to daily it, but local parts in Kuwait are non-existent or insanely expensive. Need advice on where to buy parts online, whether the car is worth the investment, and how to diagnose a 40+ km/h driveshaft wobble.
