ISO 3 BBQ Tickets

Hey everyone, I will be in town this weekend and I saw that Angine de Poitrine will be playing. My fiancé and I just lost our home to a fire and I thought it would be such a good thing to see the band bc we have wanted to for quite some time, but then I saw that tickets are sold out. The third ticket is for my sister who will be in town with us.

If anyone has leads on three tickets that aren’t scalped prices please let me know. Really hoping we can make it out ❤️

Dry fowl pox or no?

Hi.

My flock has been generally doing pretty well since we got them, but I have noticed that most of them have these little black specs/dots on their combs.

They are not bugs, I have checked up close. This morning I noticed some yellow crust one on of my hen’s comb.

I’ve seen fowl pox photos that look terrible and I’m wondering if anyone else thinks this might be fowl pox, and if there’s immediate action we need to take.

Soft shelled eggs laid at night

Hi everyone,

New chicken mom here. My hens are 22 weeks old and the last ones today are my light brahmas. I have a hunch that one of them is laying, but in the middle of the night off of the roost, because we are finding white soft shelled eggs that are busted open on the ground. I first noticed it over a week ago & we have seen 4 in total, with no regular white eggs being laid in between.

They have access to 16% layer feed, fresh water (multiple sources), they free range the second half of the day and have unlimited access to oyster shell and grit. I also save and crush their egg shells to give back to them.

I’ve seen folks say that it could be a vitamin D deficiency, but has anyone else had this happen & resolve on its own? Just wanted to check before I jump to buy more chicken supplies ☺️

Chicken butt for attention!

What is my girl doing?

I’ve discovered due to evidence yesterday & today that I have an egg eater in my flock. To try and get to the bottom of who it is, I have a ring camera set up & am now observing my hen’s behavior inside the coop for the first time. I noticed my Isa Brown acting a little odd in her nesting box. I just went to investigate and was curious why she might be pecking and trying to get underneath my maran. And ideas? Could this indicate that she’s the egg eater?

White banded egg?

Hi! New chicken mom here. My girls are roughly 19 weeks old and some are starting to lay. I found this egg on the ground, when the hen I believe laid it has been laying in nesting boxes pretty consistently.

Do we think this is a white banded egg? I have read that sometimes they lay these a day or two after being stressed and that would make sense. Two days ago they were all out and about free ranging around sunset, when a huge thunderstorm was happening and we had to herd them to the coop as they don’t like being in the rain… but the alternative was them not getting into the coop before dark and sleeping outside. They were not happy about it and were absolutely stressed!

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on the egg ❤️
