What I've held onto after 4 years of serious collecting(bonus shot of the lab)

I buy/sell/trade often and try to stay around 50 bottles so its time to down size but other than a few I don't wanna let anyrhing go.

The last picture is my amateur work station. Ive been working on an orange vanilla lacquer scent, its enjoyable but expensive and unsuccessful.

The 2nd to last pic is small collection of indy houses.

Ephemeral Dyadic: an underrated house worth trying

I own 3 bottles from Ephemeral Dyadic and have found them all to be enticing, unique and wearable.

Another World: Ink, pine, musk and amber. This was my intro to the house and it was captivating. Its clean yet slightly resinous. The opening is inky pine and the dry down is a musky amber that holds on to traces of that ink and pine and lasts quite a while.

Psychic Vibrations: I'd been seerching for a masculine leaning green vanilla but I bought this feminine leaning one instead and have no regrets. The opening is almost a candied vanilla/citrus with incense and a slight stemminess in the backround, thats the cannabis accord, don'tbe scared of it, it adds green nuance and thats it. That candied nature fades and you're left with a luxurious, slightly musky, powdery vanilla and Iris. I'd say its similar to Vanilla powder by Matiere Premiere but the musk is more in the backrohnd and less overbearing, Vanilla Powder was an instant scrub off for me.

Ozymandias: I'd been waiting for this one to restock on Venba and instantly pulled the trigger. Its a peppery, resinous vanilla. It comes off slightly dusty, like a much more masculine Vanille Antique by Byredo. Its not in the notes and maybe I'm just imagining it but i get tobacco in the dry down, reminds me of a freshly opened pack of American Spirits with that ambery, balsamic resin in the backround.

After writing this review I've concluded that this house's fingerprint invovles because its in all 3 of these, noticeable but not overbearing.

The most beautiful citrus I own: Oranger Sirocco by Les Indemodables

Its mostly white florals and cinnamon but the spices give it an orange marmalade vibe with a hint of animalics that remind you what it is. Perfect for late summer and fall

Most recent pick ups: Guerlain, D'Orsay, Fugazzi, Comme Des Garcons, Ephemeral Dyadic, Clocks and Colours and Cirrus

Another World by Ephemeral Dyadic: ink, pine, musk, cedar

On 1st impression this is going to get a lot of wear from me. Slightly inky, green musk with a hint of amber and woods.

Bal D'Afrique Absolu. Purchased from Nose Paris but smells different from the bottle purchased direct from Byredo

Bal D'Afrique Absolu

Batch code is 61 311 box/bottle match.

I recently purchased this from Nose Paris but also own a 50ml i bought directly feom Byredo. They do not smell the same, the new one is weaker, less sweet and more citrusy with a distinct clay smell, it doesn't smell juicy. The juices are also different colors

Floraiku Paris Sand and Skin

I got the discovery set direct from Floraiku and this and I Am Coming Home were the 2 that I instantly fell in love with.

I'm not usually into yellow florals or sandalwood but the way they're combined here with the Madagascar vanilla is addicting. It truly smells like "beach skin" without smelling sunscreeny. For me this fragrance doesn't change much except for the fact its loud for the 1st 30 minutes then tones down to an arm's length scent bubble. The woods, ylang ylang and vanilla are the main players but there's a hint of spiciness in the backround that give it a slighty dirty/musky/animalic quality. Leans feminine but has a great contrast if you're the type of dude that enjoys the masculine/feminine contrast

Picked this up a few weeks ago after they restocked. 1st full bottle from Celine

Its not for everyone but if you like the idea of vanilla lacquer and elegance then you'll like Black Tie
