I got a tent to hang out with Ham Sam in the house without needing to worry about the cats. Enrichment, etc.

It feels like being inside the velociraptor paddock, while the cats keep testing the barriers.

Thanks to whomever said to add slate for masking and nail trims! We went to the creek yesterday, I baked it at 200ºF so long 8li forgot and my oven turned itself off, and I put it in today! He usually takes a few minutes to get used to new stuff in his house, but he loves this so much!

I recognize the Liriope and the quinquinolia, but this vine-ish variegated thing that is budding has me confused!

Trying to teach my son how to feed Ham Sam without getting bitten.

I love my son Ham Sam, and also my human son!

So, I have a halmahera blue tongue skink in a 4x2x2' biohab! I put 100 powder party mix isopods in a few months ago, and they are finally propagating enough that I'm starting to see them!

My daughter rearranged furniture in our living room, and decided to bring a houseplant from outside on the porch to look nice next to Ham Sam's house. It had ants.

Now there are hella ants in Ham Sam's biohab. Not just regular sugar ants, but those giant mofos, too.

What do I do? Do I have to scrap everything? The plants were finally starting to grow in, he was finally really happy. I even just added a new layer of coco coir chunks.

Anyone have suggestions?

Today, approximately 3 months after putting 100 party powder mix isopods in my 4x2x2', I finally saw blues AND oranges! I was thinking they were all dead! I'm totally stoked!

This is Ham Sam's Domain! He was in his tunnel looking like emperor palpatine when I went in to clean out his turtle pool (he loves that thing), and then he tried to remember how to get on his stairs, forgot, and then I helped put him up there. Poor Ham Sam.

The hydrometers lie and have false humidity readers, but the temp is fairly accurate! I have others in there, but I can usually tell where he's hanging out if he needs more dampness. I have a fake reptiking misting system with 5 out of 6 nozzles being used to ensure everywhere is humid enough for him!

I got the tunnel at home despot as a "downspout adapter" for very inexpensive, and it's one of his favorite things!

He was mad at me for "helping" him bask because he couldn't figure out where his stairs started, so he's turning away from the camera today!

Ham Sam is about 4.5 years old, now.

He still doesn't understand the concept of "there is food underneath me."

He will be angrily staring at me as if to say, "I know they're in here SOMEWHERE, you are HIDING them from me!"

Will he ever learn how to eat things underneath him?
