First I'm not happy with the fact that a lot of guest judges don't sing live. Recording tau hum YouTube pe bhi sun sakte hain.

From the promos I was expecting this episode to be so moving. Esp after the last episode that was so full of passion & energy.

Today I had braced myself to cry with most songs (as I do every time) but every song felt rushed & too performed without any soul. Imagine my disappointment.

'aye watan pyare watan' is such a special song that even if you hum it, you'll do so with so much feel. But Rohan turned it into just another song.

Hira's performance was better than the rest sure but the overall episode was a big let down.

All languages & songs were so hard and everyone did their best. My favourite contestants today were:

1. Tarab

2. Maham

3. Samiya

All guest artists delivered strong, hard to pick a favourite. Astounding that they sound the same after decades (esp impressed with Akhtar Chanal Sahb).

Sanam's impromptu with Tarab was also lovely.

The only thing that was taking away from my experience was the host. He ruins peak moments with his yapping. Is there a need to spoon feed the judges & guests? I'm sure they can speak their minds.

Overall I'm glad the show is back. Looking forward to Fakhir's episode now.
