Life changing.

Background:
I live in an area with no HOA. The neighborhood has an old lady whom tries to act like a mayor so much that folks have gotten to calling her that. In the first few years I had an ok relationship with her. We agreed on most things.

One day I got a letter from the township that I left my trashcan out too long. I was a little surprised because we never have any interaction with the township other than paying taxes.

Turns out folks saw the neighbor taking pictures of my property and she admitted to some that it was her whom called the township on me. I was surprised and a bit disappointed because I am incredibly approachable, and I thought we had a decent relationship.

3 years have gone by and I’ve gotten letter after letter for little bs things with pictures taken of my property. The last thing was I had the cops called on me because we parked the car on the street (not against code but they claimed it was dangerous). I have had it with them.

Today:
My 17 yo daughter comes in the house upset that the mayor was yelling at her to slow down on the street ( the crazy lady has had a speed trap installed so she can complain about people speeding). Like any dad I tell her she shouldn’t be going over the speed limit in the neighborhood (3 over even). But it gets under my skin that she thinks she can yell at my daughter so I go over there.

I basically at first confirm what happened then say you come talk to me don’t yell at my daughter. She acts like it’s her right to do and will do it again. From there things devolve ending with me telling her to get a life and calling her a psycho.

I feel bad about it now mostly because I know Im not in the best place emotionally going through a divorce. If I had to vote I’d say I think Im the asshole but wondering what the internet thinks.

Suddenly after the update my galleons can’t travel over open deep water and are forced along the coast. Anyone else?
