Waxing a new cutting board

I have made a batch of cutting boards, which is not new to me. What is new to me is I also made my first batch of board butter (standard 4-1 ratio of mineral oil to beeswax). I have already oil dipped these boards, and now I am applying a coat of the butter to them. My question is how long do you let the butter sit on the board before buffing it out?

Small crosscut sled

I made a small cross cut sled, but I’ve never seen one offset like this so I thought I would share and get some feedback. This is mostly for making small end grain cutting boards, so I offset the blade to have more support on the left side. There is 13” between fences, 16” to the left of the blade, and 6” to the right. The stop block runs on a Microjig groove. The fences and runners are made from Maple scraps I had laying around. The blade guard is just glued up 2x6 cutoffs.

SpeTool panel clamps

I’m trying out the SpeTool panel clamps and thought I would share my experience. So far I am impressed: they are very solidly built and are working exactly as advertised. I used a tip I saw online to put an extra board between the work and the pin. It didn’t occur to me I should do it on the clamp end too: the only strip here that didn’t clamp flat is the first one by the clamp head because it’s not covered by the cross bar. All the others cinched right up nice as you please. I’m definitely going to get a lot of use out of these!

Best router for flattening jig

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Spetool router sled. I have a Bosch 1617 EVS that I can use but I’m wondering if this would be a good excuse to buy a 3+ HP unit like the Triton. I want to leave it permanently mounted so I don’t have to constantly swap it out, just curious what others are using or recommending.

DW735 Circuit Breaker Issue

I am replacing the circuit breaker on my DE735. When I got it apart, I found what appears to be burn damage on the line connector (pictured).

I know very little about electronics, but this seems like a problem. This is a short cable that connects to the on/off switch box. Should I replace the cable or is this normal? Is there anything else I should be looking into?

My first spoon

Walnut, carved with a grinder and sander. Finished with mineral oil. Lots left to learn, but I can already tell this is going to be fun!
