IMPORTANT Subreddit moderation changes

Hi everyone!

Since this community has grown quite a bit, we are now at about 20k weekly visitors, I've decided that it's time to update the moderation here accordingly.

I feel like the biggest issue this subreddit currently has are people accusing every second release of being a virus, people simply responding with "buy it" to any issue or request, and the huge amount of reposts/similar posts.

First, let's talk about the many "viruses": if someone says that an upload contains a virus, that comment or post will be automatically removed. While malware is very rare, it has happened before, so keeping the system just like that would leave plenty of room to exploit it, which is why only select users will be able to upload anything in the first place.

To upload, you must have at least 200 combined karma^? and your account must be older than thirty days. If your account doesn't meet that requirement you have the option to be manually approved. Users with the "Approved" or "Verified" flair are exempt from the aforementioned rule. If you see someone with either flair the upload is likely trustworthy, especially if they have the "Verified" flair. However, everyone will still be able to link to anything on Reddit and Suprbay.

Secondly, we have added u/JharenoNL to our mod team, with his support we will enforce our rules on reposts and "buy it" comments, but also on hatespeech and trolling.

To elaborate, that does NOT mean that you should never say that a developer deserves to be supported, we will absolutely continue to allow those comments, but in many cases they are unhelpful at best.

We will also add a FAQ in the (hopefully) near future, in the meantime please use the search feature before asking anything.

These changes are not all final and may be changed in the coming days. Please let me know if you have any concerns, complaints, or simply ideas to do things differently. All changes are effective immediately.

Thank you for your attention!

[RELEASE] SkyBound AIRAC Updater v1.0

After countless hours of work, I think it's finally the time to release it. This is the SkyBound AIRAC Updater, a modified version of the Navigraph Hub. Unfortunately, since Navigraph uses download tokens, this wasn't a straightforward crack and I will have to reupload all files each cycle update. Unfortunately, that is now impossible since I lost access to my account, so if you'd be willing to support me, please consider sharing your subscription with me, although most people reading this are probably doing so because the do NOT have one.

Anyway, what is actually new? Obviously, it now fetches the navdata from dropbox instead of Navigraph servers. The footer shows the current reuploaded cycle (once I have access to a Navigraph account again I will try to reupload everything within a week of each new cycle releasing, but no promises there unfortunately), at least in online mode.

Online mode? Indeed, it's time to address the elephant in the room: the app now has a toggle to switch between online and offline mode! As I have already explained, in online mode it will use our reuploaded navdata, in offline mode you're free to choose any archive that has the right format. I've configured it to use the same one the Navigraph cycles from rutracker use so you can install those if you can't wait for me to reupload it.

Also, in offline mode the footer's function changes: it will now display the loaded cycle. If the text is yellow the loaded cycle is older than the current online cycle. If the text is grey the loaded cycle is the same as the current online cycle. If the text is green the loaded cycle is newer than the current online cycle. If the text is red the loaded navdata packages are of different cycles.

In offline mode you may realise that many buttons show "UNAVAILABLE": that is because the currently selected archive doesn't contain navdata for those entries. Many addons actually share the same database and only use different identifiers so I might be able to add support for more down the line, but I haven't gotten around to that yet.

I've also introduced a "stealth" mode which makes the app look nearly identical to the original Navigraph Hub, it makes the interface look a bit cleaner if you don't plan on using the offline mode. You can hide all offline mode related UI by double-clicking the "Install locations" text above the simulators, you'd unhide it the same way.

If you haven't noticed, I've also added support for the iniBuilds A340 and A350 and the Aerosoft A340 (the A346 image is custom-made by me), neither of which are supported by the original Navigraph Hub. Since I'm mostly an X-Plane person and need to save on storage I wasn't able to test if they worked in the aircraft, but from what I can tell they seem to install to the right locations, I'd be grateful to hear back from you if they work.

DISCLAIMER: A part of this code has been AI-generated. I've reviewed and tested everything thoroughly to make sure that it runs well and is safe, but if that is a deal-breaker for you, feel free to move on.

DISCLAIMER 2: This app isn't completely finished yet, but I will be busier with the holidays ending tomorrow and honestly I just wanted to be done with this. During testing everything worked great, but that was not quite the same as the release version. I do have plans for the future, such as more customisability and adding more addons to offline mode, but that won't happen today. Probably in the next weeks though.

With all that out of the way, here are the download links:

Both are exactly the same, you only need to download one of them.

Please let me know if you encounter any more issues or bugs and I will fix them ASAP.

[UPCOMING] Navigraph AIRAC Updater

This will be a modified version of Navigraph hub. It will feature an Online mode where the navdata will be downloaded from the SkyBound servers (hopefully). Since I would have to manually add them for each new cycle, which takes time, there will also be an offline mode where you will be able to use the cycle you'd have to download from rutracker.

The logic is mostly finalised, the offline mode seems to work fine, I will just have to add support for more add-ons. I haven't had the opportunity to set up online mode yet. The UI also isn't finalised yet, but I don't think that there will be any major changes. ETA is most likely before the next cycle.

That being said, if you have purchased a navigraph subscription and are willing to share it with me, please send me a DM, there are some files not included in the rutracker cycle which I need.

Edit: I now have a navigraph subscription (many thanks to xplanebros) and will continue work. Now it's only adding some add-ons and minor bug fixes, expect a release soon!!

Edit 2: Got online mode figured out, works fantastically. I'm still running into the issue that the add-ons I added myself (iniBuilds and A346) don't show as installed after I install them plus some minor UI glitches (such as buttons only working after clicking them twice, not always tho), then some cleanup, so overall pretty close to being done!

Edit 3: Support for iniBuilds A340/A350 added successfully. The A346 is a bit more complicated as the navdata is in the cycle_2608 folder which I don't want to hard code for obvious reasons.

Edit 4: Aerosoft A346 working perfectly now as well, I will now focus on the last bug fixes and cleanup.

Edit 5: Seems like all bugs are gone, I'll rework the offline mode to ensure compatibility with future updates and make it less confusing.

Looking for people to share the Synaptic A220

Hey folks! Without wanting to go into too much detail, the SkyBound team has been far from idle the last few weeks, and we have some very exciting upcoming projects. That being said, if you own the Synaptic A220 for MSFS 2024 and are willing to temporary share your Microsoft account (you'd have to switch to a temporary password, after we're done it would be all yours again), please send us a modmail. Many thanks in advance!

FYI you are not at risk of losing access to your account, it is completely safe. And no, just the fsarchive files (which have already been shared) are not needed.

Today's SkyBound Updates

Since I did a bit of smaller stuff today, I'll simply put everthing into a single post, that way I'll avoid cluttering the subreddit.

  • Reuploaded iniBuilds A340
  • Updated COWS DA40 to v1.1.6
  • Updated COWS DA42 to v1.2.9
  • Updated iniBuilds F406 Caravan II for MSFS 2024 to v1.0.5
  • Added iniBuilds F406 Caravan II for MSFS 2020 v1.0.2 and v1.0.4

I also made some smaller organisational changes to have a better overview of upcoming projects.

Cheers!

Notes:

Sorry it's taken us this long, but it's finally here! I want to take this opportunity to update y'all regarding our upcoming projects: we've released the CSS 737-500, v1.9.0, on our discord (look in the announcements channel if you haven't seen it yet). It won't be released on the website since it's our internal testing build, but we wanted to get it out there either way. We will release the updated version along with the -300 and -400 soon as well, it looks like CSS changed their DRM meaning we will have to crack it again. Since retc3 is currently taking a break, expect those around the coming weekend.

Also, since people have asked about it for a while now (no, we still don't do requests), we have cancelled all our plans for FSRealistic+, mostly because we CBA, got more important stuff to do. It is work after all, work we are not being paid for.
If you want to support us, please consider donating, running a website is not cheap and we'd like to keep it free for everyone. Also, you can support us by sharing add-ons you've bought in the past by opening a contribution ticket in our discord. We have a list of wanted add-ons there as well, but we're also looking for any add-ons purchased through Orbx, and for add-ons made by Blackbird and Miltech.

That's it for now, happy flying!

Also, shout out to the big drill!

PSA: Nothing is uncrackable.

Just wanted to make a quick announcement since I’ve seen more and more replies going something along the lines of “uncrackable, online activation”. The following is mostly based on my own knowledge, but I have also consulted cviper13, who cracked GFX, vRAAS, and ChasePlane.

Online activation does NOT make an add-on uncrackable. Online activation simply means that it needs to be cracked in the first place, but not that it’s uncrackable. I’d even go as far as to say that there isn’t a truly uncrackable add-on, not the Fenix A320 family, not GSX Pro, not the FSLabs A321neo. The problem is much rather that there aren’t many people who crack MSFS 2024 add-ons, which is why those haven’t been released… YET.

The ONLY add-ons for which a crack likely will NOT be released are those exclusive to the MSFS 2024 marketplace. This is not saying that they are uncrackable, they aren’t. It’s more an issue of obtaining the files. While a download feature has been introduced, the files are downloaded in a well encrypted .fsarchive format, it hasn’t been figured out how those can be decrypted yet.

Another thing I want to add is that sceneries do NOT need to be cracked, to my knowledge not a single scenery has a DRM outside of their installer. Again, marketplace-exclusive sceneries are an exception here.

That’s it, you may now go on with your day. If I see another “online activation, uncrackable” type comment, it will be removed.
