How to best support a friend on GLP1s?

My best friend started taking GLP1s half a year ago. They've shared their struggles with eating and weight ever since I've known them (11 to 30s now). We often have frank discussions about our health and sometimes I don't know what to say when talking about GLP1s and other aspects of their journey.

How can I best support my friend on their journey?

Fire Weather

Anyone else getting fire weather vibes yesterday and today? I feel like this wind and heat is drying everything out. Plants that were lush and green last week in Pogonip are dry as a bone now.

Found this old Sentinel article about the abortion pill (1990)

I was browsing the archives looking for something else but noticed this article. I thought it was relevant given the recent legal attacks on the abortion pill. I personally liked Matt Horowitz's look and take. Interesting perspectives from Santa Cruzans on April 9th, 1990.

This article published a few days ago in the Mercury talks about minors and e-bikes, which, along with housing and sales taxes, have been frequent topics of discussion here.

A mom and dad in Benicia were charged with child abuse for providing their teenage son with an e-bike that was capable of exceeding 30 MPH. Apparently, several recent minor deaths have prompted prosecutorial and legislative action (yay!).

I hope that the child abuse case and pending legislation will motivate the parents of children riding e-bikes about the dangers of the road. I have personally been involved in way too many close calls with kids on e-bikes (often riding pillion, sometimes 3 kids on one bike) while driving in Santa Cruz, and I'm sure many of you have as well.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago on a post about another article, minors of e-bike riding age (4-18) are 13.43% of the county's population yet make up 18% of e-bike related emergency room visits, a ~34% over representation.

It seems that bureaucrats are beginning to see this rise as well.
