I got new prescription glasses two days ago and it brought back memories.

I made this posts minutes after I became Christian universalist: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChristianUniversalism/s/ADzOSHTiLg . I remember when that happened happened. It was like seeing the Gospel clearly for first time. I had been doing deconstructing of my faith for some times and was already hopeful universalist. This brings us back to my new glasses.

My vision is not that bad, but when I put them first time on my nose it was like the details of the world jumped to my face. My surroundings seemed so much more beautiful and lively when I saw them fully. It was same with Confident universalism. I already saw the Gospel more clearly than many infernalist or annhilationist Christians, but with hopeful universalism there still was a blur. Now I have seen the Gospel clearly exactly three years and one month. It truly is the Good news!

It's amazing how God can teach us the gospel truths with so everyday examples like prescription glasses.

\"Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” John 12:31-32 NRSVUE

I don't know if literal Satan exists, but...

...there is one strong evidence for it. I often wonder where the idea of eternal Hell came? Who told to people that God is sadist who tortures his children forever? Who told people that Jesus failed in his mission to save all? Who told to people that God will never be all in all (It contradicts: 1.Corinthians 15:28)? Who told to people that God who is love (1. John 4:8) looks like... well... like Satan?

Secular explanation would be that Universalism can't be used to control people. With eternal Hell believers will hang on pastor's every word. Maybe this is the explanation. I'm not god I don't know if Satan exists or is he actually allegory to human evil, and frankly I don't even care to know the answer to that question. Christ has conquered Satan anyway what ever the answer is, because where sin increased, grace abounded all the more (Romans 5:20).

I have theology question about one specific eternal Hell interpretation.

Is it true that this interpretation of eternal Hell is from the middle ages? It goes: "Hell is eternal because you sinned against eternal God so your punishment should be eternal, because God is eternal." I've heard that this is from the middle ages, because this is how justice worked at that time. So how harsh your punishment is would be dependent on the status of the victim of said crime.

Is there some (free) sources which I could look up about this?

I know that there are other views of ECT. I've just heard this so many times. Also I'm a Christian universalist, and I find all forms of ECT repulsive.

My mysticam experience.

I had this experience a few months ago. I was then and still am a Christian universalist. I had this vision like experience about Christ on the cross. It looked like he was beaten and whipped. His blood was pouring from the places where nails pierced him and the wounds which whipping had caused. I heard his labored breathing too. I sensed that he was not angry to anyone. He even in that state radiated pure unconditional love.

I can't explain it fully. It was a gory scene, but there was so much beauty in that too, because I realized when I was watching this. Nothing about eternal Hell is true. It does not fit in the picture of crusified Christ in any way. He loves all and is savior of all.

I have been thinking this like few months already and now I have to post this somewhere. I hope that this is the right place.

I hope that there is Heaven

People do some really horrible things. We create humanitarian crises after humanitarian crises. War, genocide, famine and so on. I have read many times "I hope there is Hell so this person/persons can face justice." By Hell they usually mean eternal conscious torment.

When I see all the horrible stuff I see in the world I hope that there is Heaven. I hope that victims of all these horrible events around the world wake up in the arms of the God who is love.

Torturing every war criminal, genocider, r*pist for ever does not help anyone. People who died in different conflicts don't come back because people who caused those conflicts burn alive in eternal Hell. What actually helps victims and oppressors is the unconditional and purifying love of God. What actually helps is the healing of wounds which these conflicts caused.

Thoughts about the blood of the lamb in the Christian protestant songs [TW: mentions of the blood and execution]

I have kinda old music taste. I like to listen old Gospel songs. Today I listened what I usually listen and then it hit me.

This blood stuff is really off putting to outsiders. I have known this for a long time, but today it hit me. I was thinking about how one of my friend made me listen Ghost band and I did not like it at all, for understandable reasons. To many Christian songs of Blood of the lamb or blood and execution of Jesus can be really unpleasant to someone without any context of the theology and history, like listening to Ghost music was for me , or even lot more worse to someone with religious trauma. Especially when many of those songs are so upbeat (That's why I'm personally drawn to these songs). In the non protestant and especially non Christian world it's not normal to sing happily about getting washed in the blood of the lamb. It's not normal to sing happily execution of innocent good man who did miracles.

Some songs the problem of theology too when there are lyrics is paying or buying added into it. If Jesus paid our sins on the cross then I'm sorry to say it's not forgiveness. It can't be both. I personally believe that Jesus as God forgave the sins not paid them.
