Rangefinding is hurting my brain

Bought the game recently, always wanted it and saw it on sale. Mucked around in the tutorial area for a bit and the rangefinding is breaking my balls. I swapped over to the instant action and I'm creating this as I restock my ammunition for my M60A1 RISE because 3/4 of my shots were short or high because this rangefinder is confusing as all shit. How do I use it?

I really don't understand these players

I've seen posts about this before explaining them and all but still, why? Like, its your tank, do what you want but others can see it and I don't understand why they do this.

I asked them why and they just responded with "why not?" but be fr, you do wonder if they support them...

Lil update: Went back to look at his acc and all (bit bored). Only plays Germany. He has 2k kills in the Tiger II and 1.5k in the Tiger I.
