Have you had more/less luck based on bank location?

Have you had more/less success at banks in the more well-to-do parts of your city? I understand that it’s all luck of the draw, just wondering if I may have more success by focusing on branches in certain parts of the city.

Thank you CRH folks

I lurked in this sub forever and only recently decided to give it a try.

After reading about some banks not being CRH friendly, I was so apprehensive about going in and asking. Much to my surprise, the first bank I went to was super friendly and I got a box of half dollars and a bunch of presidential dollars. After digging through those, I learned that I may have more fun/success hunting through CWRs.

Hit up a different branch today and once again…super friendly folks. I got everything they had and because you all taught me well, I asked if they liked chocolate chip cookies because I wanted to send them a thank you. Signed up for Tiff’s Treats and got 50% off my first order and shipped the cookies to the bank.

Thanks again for the advice and wisdom you all have indirectly blessed me with. Wish me luck!!

First box and first curious coin

I’ve been lurking in this sub forever and this week I decided to dive in and give this hobby a try. I was surprised that my local bank was so receptive when I asked about half dollars, even after sharing that I want to dig through rolls and return what is not important to me. The teller said it’s totally fine and all ask is that I roll them, she even gave me a large stack of rollers.

Being completely new, I didn’t hesitate opening and hunting for silver, as it’s what is most obvious for me. I didn’t find any silver coins, but I did find this one that stuck out. I can’t determine if the haziness on the front is damage or ??? The back of the coin has a pretty rainbow-like sheen that glimmers in the light. I’d appreciate some input. I’ve tried searching for some info on the haziness, but I think I’m not describing it properly to find an answer.

I understand the shimmer on the back may be toning.

Thanks!!
