Needing some final electives…

My husband starts UMPI for Fall 1. He is transferring all of his GEC from Sophia, 2 of his psychology classes from Study, and then will do 10 classes at UMPi for psych.

If I’m understanding correctly, he needs 120 credits total to graduate, so the rest would be electives if all psych requirements and gec requirements are met. Is that correct? He has 6 classes from Sophia that will transfer in as electives and has 2 weeks left of his Study subscription so wants to get a few more of those done.

He was leaning toward some of the history classes- the Vietnam war one, the holocaust one, and civil war one. Does anyone know if they transfer?

Or, any suggestions for classes that transfer well from study to umpi for electives?

And then lastly, on another topic, I’m trying to help him figure out how to cover 2D. Is Critical Thinking on Sophia still an option like it was a year ago? He’s also a very talented writer, so he could always wait and take creative writing at umpi. I don’t think there’s any creative writing courses that transfer in.

Thanks so much in advance!

Ps. ETA: apparently he has two weeks left of Sophia too, so open to suggestions for electives from there too. The ones he’s already using are us history 2, financial accounting, art history 2, and conflict resolution.

Has anyone taken Animal Behavior recently?

I know it used to be a quick, pretty easy class. I’ve got about two weeks left of summer 2. Do you think I would be safe to enroll in Animal Behavior today and finish it all in time?

Desperately need Research Methods help.

I'm really baffled with Research Methods. I got a 4.0 on my first milestone and now can't seem to even get a 3.0 on my second with two attempts.

The professor has since told me that my method of surveying 50 of my coworkers is not scientific and that's the problem. Maybe I'm just old and outdated at age 39, but that's how I remember doing research back in my college years. You walk around campus and survey people if you are trying to collect data. Clearly we don't have a campus, so I planned on using co-workers, but the professor does not approve so I'm realizing I've gone in the completely wrong direction and wasted a ton of time.

I'm having trouble grasping what a research study for this course should look like. I think I've seen people on here posting links to surveys before, so I thought maybe I could do that and measure the correlation between two things, but I'm struggling to understand how that's any different than surveying people in real life and I really don't want to do this all over and be wrong again.

Any help? I'm so beyond frustrated. I had a wonderful experience in Drugs & Behavior and was feeling great, but this class has really killed my spirit about it all. Thank you so much.

Psych majors planning to get their MSW next, have you narrowed down a grad school yet?

As long as things continue to stay on track I should be graduating from UMPI in either September or November, probably November. I'm just starting to look into grad schools. I'd like as similar as a program as possible to UMPI in terms of it being online, affordable if possible, and as fast-paced as possible, altho obviously I'll take what I can find.

Some of the schools I've looked at have advanced programs for social work undergraduates, but it doesn't work if you got a degree in psychology which is a bit frustrating since they're awfully similar.

About 40% of my undergrad credits are pass / fail and the rest are graded.

Thanks in advance!

Look, I already know the answer. I still have to ask though.

The answer is probably that I’m playing with 10 year olds (which is crazy because I always assume Fortnite is mostly 16+ aged people these days due to it coming out 10 years ago), but seriously, how come whenever I play random squads no one actually wants to play like it’s a squad?

Everyone goes to different areas, players don’t take heals or slip when you throw it to them, etc. why not just play solos then?

It’s also probably a reasonable answer that I should stop playing random squads, but a. I like the teamwork element and every so often you get an awesome one and it’s such a fun feeling, and b. I don’t always play for long each night (maybe 40 minutes) so I don’t want to bother real people I know with having to like wait on my timeline.

I feel like a total idiot but I can't figure out BrightSpace.

I find it so much more confusing than Sophia or Study. It's just the orientation and I'm already lost lol.

So basically I took all the milestones and got proficient on all but 2 of them. It says I need to go back and retake the ones I did not pass before I do the final, but I can't tell which two those were (I didn't write it down at the time, I figured it would just tell me) and even if I could I don't see how the heck to retake the quizzes.

I sent an email to my advisor but I don't think he understood my question.

Any help? Thank you in advance!

Environmental Science question

I just took this class about a month and a half ago and flew through it. Just like 3 quizzes per section and a final.

My husband is taking it now and it’s way longer and includes a 10 page PowerPoint. Did it just change?

Oh, and while I’m here, what app do you use to make power points? We haven’t been students in two decades.

Feeling screwed over by study.com, quite frankly.

I’m trying to knock out some classes before my UMPI 8 week program.

It’s my first time using study.com. I signed up a week ago for one month. I immediately took Social Psychology and I found that the tests took me about twice as long as the average user. (It said something like 8 minutes on average or so for a lot of the tests, and I took about 15, which I thought was good because it wouldn’t look too fast.)

I completed the course in about 3 days and submitted my final exam last Saturday. The score was put under review. Despite it saying that usually “score review” only takes 2 hours, it’s now been 6 days and they still have not confirmed my score and said I completed the class. It still says under review. I’ve sent two emails, tried to use the ai chat bot thing but that’s been useless, and have not gotten any response. There’s no phone number.

I don’t want to move on with the two other classes I’m in until this clears up, because they’re quite hard and I don’t want to put all that effort in until I know I can trust study.com to be reliable with giving me my earned credits, but time is ticking. There doesn’t seem to be a real human being from the company in sight.

Anyone else had this happen? How on earth do I get someone from the company to look into this? $250 a month isn’t exactly pocket change.

Thanks in advance.

Ps. When I was taking my test, my power went out briefly and turned my modem off, so I attached my computer to the hot spot on my phone instead. A little thing popped up about confirming my identity, but then it went away and it let me continue to finish and submit the test. Not sure if this is related, or if it really matters because regardless study.com should be responsive with customers.
