Are there any “gotchas” to be mindful of when using complimentary travel insurance?

I am looking at booking a Europe trip over Christmas. Just slightly longer than a month.

It’ll be my first time utilising the travel insurance from booking flights with a credit card.

I have these 2 cards available:
* Qantas AMEX Ultimate
* Qantas Money Platinum

I will be doing a few days skiing. I assume I need to add that on, how do I go about doing that?

And it will be a “multi city” booking if that’s relevant.

Do you get some sort of confirmation? I guess my fear is I think everything is done and then I get a little surprise if I were to need it…

Any way to salvage a gourd that is crumbling from curing?

First time curing a gourd.
My theory is that the water I used was too hot. Although I was aware of this being an issue and didn’t use boiling water.
The video I watched said to scrape it with a spoon. It worked fine for the lower half, but I’m finding the top is crumbling.

What should I do here?
