Anyone cut way back on sports?

We have a 4 yo and 7 yo. Both playing soccer (1 practice per week and 1 game per week). The 7yo plays baseball (1 practice and 1 game per week). We’ve found the kids are exhausted at practice after school. My son’s baseball practice ends at 8pm (he’s normally in bed). We’ve also found there’s basically no time to do anything else. I guess we’ve succumbed to the peer pressure of getting them started early. However, it’s not working for us. Feels weird to go against the tide and cut back on sports, but maybe it’s right for us. Interested if anyone else in same boat or have similar experience? Maybe they are too young to go this hard.

Gatekeeping U6/U7

Our local little league starts all-star and year-round travel team at U6. Five dads jumped the gun and are coaching both the travel team and the all-star team. The travel kids are not eligible to play rec but they can make the all-star team. Give you one guess what the all-star team looks like. If you guessed the exact players as the travel team you win. They’ve basically locked this team in and refuse to let anyone else in. Their goal is to keep this group together for years.

Is this just the state of things now? Any chance to breakthrough without tons of politics? Or should one just focus on when the cracks appear around age 10/11 when some kids who have been left out are suddenly better than the 6/7 year old kids who are the current group. They are likely only better bc of early reps. Lots can change in a few years.

Advice Needed: Son Pulled 2025 Ohtani Home Field Advantage

last Christmas. I got one pack for him from CVS. He ripped open the pack and threw the cards down. Didn’t care about cards. Didn’t really care about baseball. I ended up selling it for $200 raw.

Fast forward 8 months and he’s a baseball nut who loves collecting cards. We’ve been to a couple card shows and bought some cheap, cool commons for his binder.

Question: should I purchase an Ohtani HFA for him? He doesn’t remember but I do. Or do I just move on. The card is about $700 in PSA 9.
