Meghalaya is a matriarchal society hence near 80% property registered in their name.
TN is the exception in south, is it because of our women's preference of gold ownership over property?
Why not both?

This is a map of all public transit in Chennai. It paints every single bus route at schedule time x number of buses x type.
Also includes the metro rail, suburban local trains, and MRTS routes.
I am 99% sure with the bus routes validity, there might be some errors, I'll add a report error button soon, until then you can ping me.
Chennai means many thing for many people including our bureaucrats who have divided Chennai in many different ways.
The largest of these is CMDA's classification of Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA), then there is Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), there are also the not so long ago created Tambaram Corporation & Avadi Corporation.
MTC is supposed to serve all of CMA as much as possible.

We have the cheapest milk prices in India because of TN government subsidising aavin.
Aavin has lot to improve in terms of product quality, packaging, sales, and marketing. End to end cold supply chain needs to be tightly regulated.
Personally I'm a fan of Nandhini products.
I am in Chandigarh for a month now and been almost killed multiple times on a daily basis by psycho car drivers speeding, changing lanes, and turning with no consideration for other road users.
I have been all over India and never witnessed such lawlessness. The wide carriageway contributes to this madness and the extra large America like SUVs carrying just one person too.
PB licence plates seem to be most rowdy followed by HR and CH. I am scared to even confront because I read many have guns here and are nashedis who won't think twice before shooting. Is this India or Pakistan?!
Have called 112 multiple times and police just tell me to not ride cycle/2W.
Was this lawlessness on the roads always there or is it a recent phenomenon?
Data reported from the new TASMAC website API. This is all the stock the TASMAC shops have across chennai.
Brandy followed by whiskey, and beer seem to be the top 3 drinks of Chennai kudimagans.
Liquor drinking is injurious to health, there is no safe drinking limit for all alcohol, and wine isn't healthy in any amount. Never drink and drive!

Chandigarh is a planned city for extremely wealthy people with palatial bungalows, many servants, and multiple cars. It's a city of car owners built for car owners, by car owners. Worse, Chandigarh is physically and mentally stuck in the 80s.
The footpaths and cycle lanes exist mostly on the main road even then disappear at sections and completely within the sectors. The entire city is basically huge palatial bungalows and slums of parked cars on the road.
The wide lanes and roads naturally promote speeding, yet are not enough for the growing peak hour traffic congestion. The wealth of the residents and wide roads make car centric life work in Chandigarh, but eventually it will reach it's limits too.
The complete absence of mixed zone planning means ecommerce is more attractive even for few items despite the false walkable city marketing.
You exit your house and there are cars where there should be footpaths, you walk 15-20 minutes to get to the neighborhood market area just for grabbing few items, and it also entirely depends on your sector, many times I have to walk to the neighbouring sector for basic essentials. As a result is which it is common to see entire kirana stores on wheels going from sector to sector.
Even terrible planned cities in India do mixed zooming well and one isn't more thad 5-10 minutes away from their neighborhood kirana stores. In Chandigarh the market area is only hope, which if why even locals little far away from the market take their cars for basic activities like even drinking tea.
Chandigarh is a glorified third copy of American urban suburbia laid in a grid fashion, calling it a city is an insult to urbanism.
One of the main issues I personally faced when reporting civic issues was a reliably gps cam that records not only photo/video proof, but also tags the location with date and time. The play store apps are all riddled with ads and lack the added data of city corporation, ward, zone etc which will make reporting to the civic authorities faster and easier.
The app runs locally in your browser, has experimental auto face blurring function and other handy annotation tools. I also included DIGIPIN for easier location sharing in future.
The app covers all of Tamil Nadu (every corporation, municipality and town panchayat, statewide L&O and Traffic police), Bengaluru (GBA wards + city & traffic police), Hyderabad (GHMC + police), Delhi (MCD wards), Kolkata (KMC wards + police stations), Mumbai (BMC wards + police), Pune (PMC wards) and Visakhapatnam (GVMC wards).

Just reliving my childhood memories thanks to innovative footpath encroachments.

Accurate Chennai water supply map. Used data from Andhra and TN sources. Everything including the metro water pipelines are as accurate a possible. I can't make super detailed GIS info of the water pipelines public because it's a national secret apartment.

Tldr: we got lucky the last 5 years, we have desalination water plant coming up soon, but rain water in reservoirs and ponds cheaper. We should revive lakes and ponds.

Bonus tip: you can check the underside of the map to recreate Kathi climax scene.

Velachery was still largely just farms then, mostly devoid of trees (farming largest cause of deforestation).

The Velachery Tambaram road is faintly visible, along with Guindy race course and governor's estate.

So as I posted yesterday, and I had complained to Chennai corp on Twitter and registered a complaint number 2026-528SMN [check here] (https://erp.chennaicorporation.gov.in/pgr/indexpgr.jsp#complaint).
It has been moved today so as to not obstruct pedestian right of way.
While this might seem insignificant for some, it is extremely important to ensure pedestian right of way in a country where majority are pedestians and are killed the most on the road only after motorcyclists.
Footpath is only for walking, when we have wide enough footpaths, we can put these pandals.
Don't forget to raise civic issue complaints and make our city better. Never feel shy or dejected when authorities fail, it takes time, but with our sheet online presence we can essentially cyber shame authorities if they fail to take action despite repeated complaints. Keep posting pictures online until they see it.
TVK party people put up these useless water pandals on footpath and as usual they have spent more on the banners and steel structures than pots and ensuring water was actually available.
Surprisingly other parties and actor groups haven't put as much this year.
This will be removed by the corporation by tomorrow evening.
Replaced the real faces with placeholders because I won't give the publicity that they crave for.
This one is at Brindavan Nagar main road, Adambakkam, ward 175, zone 13.
Entire stretch from Guindy race course road, Chakrapani street, City link road, Brindavan Nagar main road, Balaji Nagar main road connecting with Inner ring road near Puzhuthivakkam will get footpaths by the end of this year.
Knowing tree coverage over our streets is important, what's more important is keeping track of the trees since they are getting cut down left and right these days.
To solve all these questions, I created a gamified platform where people living in Greater Chennai Corporation can walk around and confirm the existence of trees in the dataset and encrich it by adding the missing once.
You need to add one tree to unlock sign up with Google or Twitter or just continue anon. Only the tree data is collected and everything else is stored locally, so if you wipe your cache, all progress will go away, unless you signed up.
