How do I save money for my future??

I’m 19 and currently a college student. my bf(19) and I are planning on moving into an apartment in the next year or so but I’ve having a hard time saving money and paying for school without loans. I pay for everything from has to medical bills so it’s getting really hard with a low income job.

Any advice for young saving?

Where to look for small seat saddles

I have a very little seat for an adult saddle (I use 14/15 inch seat). I've been using a kids saddle which is ok but isn't as durable or nice looking. Would I need to custom order one or do places sell small seated adult saddles? I ride western btw

What is the softest spurs?

The horse I'm leasing was trained with spurs so he just doesn't feel my heels when I try to use pressure to turn. I don't personally love to use spurs but I feel like I'm going to have to. What kind of spurs are the softest and most gentle?

Edit: Thank you for all the suggestions! I personally am just really nervous about using spurs since I never really have before and don't want to accidentally hurt my horse! I'm not against them at all I just haven't used them much and feel nervous to.

Desensitizing to a scary wash stall?

The indoor wash stall at my barn is deemed the "scary wash stall". It's an old-fashioned building and it's just a large, dark cinderblock room. I don't blame my horse for not like it, but it does make bathing a lot easier. Do I just use treats to get him used to it before actually using it with him?

Western events that aren't barrels

I've never been the most found of running barrels. They are fun a I'd like something more technical or just different that I could still compete in. I only ride western so show jumping it out of the question. Any ideas?

When am I ready to buy a horse?

I (19 f) rode horses my whole childhood. I have started working at a barn the summer and also leasing. I want to be able to build a bond and have my own companion to ride and love on. The kicker is I am a college student 4 hours away from home. If I had a horse of my own I'd have to drive them up to school and back. My school is in Northern Minnesota, so it does get really cold.

I know I shouldn't buy a horse now and pay for school at the same time but there is one 3y mare that I know the owner of and she is selling. She is the sweetest and was professionally trained.

How much money/when should I start looking to buy my own?

Edit: thank you for the help! I don't feel like I get enough out of my lease (3 days a week) so maybe I can up my days!
