WeldWerks Foam Around and Find Out (WCIPA)

Welcome back to the bar.

Tonight’s pick is an exceptional West Coaster from Colorado’s WeldWerks. Priding themself on variety and quality, WW has made over 700 different beers in their first 8 years in operation.

Foam Around is a bold and balanced, classic west coast IPA, I imagine a blend of Citra, Amarillo, and Chinook, giving it lots of mandarin, mango, and a bit of familiar dankness. The full complexity you want from a dressed up WCIPA. Really enjoyable

4/5

But close to a 5 for me.

Ministry of Brewing Planetary Hazy IPA

Ministry of Brewing, out of Baltimore, MD, debuts a new IPA for distribution. A bold 7.7%, nearly a double, it packs a punch of El Dorado, Amarillo, and Australian grown Mosaic hops, delivering delicious notes of pine and navel orange to the palate. The nose would have you believe it would be much more stonefruit led, but orange is the dominant note here.

Super enjoyable, silky smooth.

Radeberger Pilsner Zwickelbier

Welcome back to the bar,

Radeberger is a classic German brewery specializing in Pilsners.

Founded in 1872 in Radeberg, Saxony, the Radeberg breueri currently brews just two beers, a clarified Pilsner, and the Pilsner Zwickelbier. It rose to popularity through endorsements by King of Saxony in the early 20th century, and became a favorite of Vladimir Putin while he was stationed in Dresden while working with the KGB. During the GDR period, the breueri was state owned, and continued distribution to the US. When Germany was reunified, the breueri began selling back to west Germany. The can is emblazoned with the Royal Saxonian crest, and traditional burgundy and beige.

It was also the favorite of Charlie in Two and a Half Men.

The Pilsner Zwickelbier is distinguished by its less clarified appearance and silky, full, body. It showcases traditional German pale malt and hops and is made with local Spring Water. A fantastic beer for early spring.
