Patek Philippe Has a Problem (And Vacheron Constantin Knows It)
Britt Pearce has some excellent points here. And most of this goes towards who each watch brand is targeting for an audience. I'm not sure if PP is doing the right thing, as over time, selling fewer higher end watches truly limits your base. VC is doing what it can to bring in people at the lower levels and them move them up through its internal tiers. They both can work. But I think VC is doing the right thing.

First time in a long time...someone noticed and commented on my Overseas 4520v. He was wearing a Rolex Bluesy, not sure if it was a 126613 or a 116613. He is planning on getting an Overseas and one for his wife. They were amazed at the dial in the sunlight. Best blue dial out there!

It was running 16 seconds per day fast, which is about double the max allowed. Dropped off on March 9th. Back on April 25th, 2 weeks sooner than expected. This feels so much better than my Rolex GMT, which has been my substitute wear. It had a year of wear, small scratches, etc. All gone. It feels brand new.
