2025 Lafleur stable released

Le Grand Village: "The 2025 Vin de France from Grand Village reveals a bright, expressive bouquet of dark berries with a hint of raspberry. Medium- to full-bodied, it’s precise and seamless, defined by more pronounced, limestone-inflected acidity than in recent vintages. The texture remains juicy and fleshy yet more tightly contained, lending the wine a firmer sense of structure, and the wine concludes with a fresh and gently ethereal finish. It points to a subtle stylistic shift toward greater tension and clarity." 91-93 Points, Wine Advocate

Les Perrières: "The 2025 Vin de France Les Perrières is superb, revealing a fresh, gourmand bouquet of red berries that becomes more floral with aeration. Medium- to full-bodied, it’s tense, straight and crystalline, defined by pronounced limestone-driven acidity, concluding with a pure, precise and perfumed finish. It differs from Grand Village in its more immediate structural expression, with the chalky imprint evident throughout the palate." 93-95 Points, Wine Advocate

Les Pensées: "Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries, licorice and truffle, framed by a deft touch of oak, the 2025 Pensées de Lafleur is medium- to full-bodied, rich and velvety, with an enveloping core of fruit, bright acids and a rather muscular, broad-shouldered profile. Impressive but distinctly serious, this is a structured Pensées that will reward patience." 94-96 Points, Wine Advocate

"The 2025 Les Pensées was picked from 28 August until 12 September. It has slightly darker fruit, a light marine influence, touches of oyster shell infusing the redcurrant and cranberry fruit. Quite open. The palate is very finely balanced, poised and minerally, with wonderful vivacity and poise, and real sapidity towards the finish that lingers in the mouth. This is an outstanding Les Pensées." 94-96 Points, Neal Martin

Lafleur: "For sure, it has a bashful bouquet at first and demands time to really open in the glass, 10 to 15 minutes. Only then does it reveal enticing scents of blackcurrant, bilberry, crushed stone and iris flower, all beautifully defined and very succinct—quintessential Lafleur. The palate is medium-bodied and framed by chiselled tannins that lend this Pomerol beguiling symmetry. What really marks this Lafleur is its tremendous persistence on the finish. It just goes on and on. This is a great Lafleur, irrespective of what it took to get there." 97-99 Points, Neal Martin

"The 2025 Lafleur is generous and expressive, bursting with aromas of sweet cherries and raspberries mingled with notions of licorice, anise and violets. Full-bodied, dense and muscular, with a fleshy attack that segues into an ample, layered core of primary fruit, it's built around plenty of sweet, powdery tannin. This is a large-scaled Lafleur endowed with everything in abundance." 96-98 Points, Wine Advocate

Grand Village Blanc: "The 2025 Grand Village Blanc shows a more pronounced Sauvignon Blanc influence than usual, revealing aromas of spring flowers, mint and ripe orchard fruits, with a touch of exotic fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, tense and lively, it offers a less dense palate than the previous vintage, privileging an energetic, linear core of fruit and concluding with a long, mouthwatering finish." 90-92 Points, Wine Advocate

Les Champs Libres: "The 2025 Vin de France Les Champs Libres, crafted entirely from Sauvignon Blanc, reveals a vibrant bouquet of fresh fruit, confit citrus and a distinct mentholated hint. Medium- to full-bodied and dense yet precise, it is defined by racy acidity that brings energy and length, concluding with a long and ethereal finish that underscores its tension and clarity. As usual, this is a real success." 92-94 Points, Wine Advocate

2025 Château Beauséjour J. Duffau-Lagarrosse

This one is coming out quite highly recommended from a few people

2025 Château Beauséjour J. Duffau-Lagarrosse

3x75cl OWC - £276/3

Magnums OWC1 - £184/1
Magnums OWC3 - £552/3
(No extra bottling charges apply- which is rare and strongly encouraged to take advantage of! I am still deeply regretting missing the boat on Cheval Blanc magnums (now sold out), if one had to choose, this is the format to buy en primeur, as they are so much harder to find down the line.)

A blend of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc, the 2025 Beauséjour (Duffau Lagarrosse) unwinds in the glass with notes of violets and sweet wild berries, displaying lovely purity and integration. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, with bright acids, ripe tannins and a penetrating finish, it's Joséphine Duffau Lagarrosse's most accomplished wine to date, showing just what this exceptional limestone terroir is capable of.

96-98/100 William Kelley, WA

The 2025 Beauséjour J. Duffau-Lagarrosse is a fabulous, contemporary Saint-Émilion. Notes of lavender, rose petal and mocha lift the effortless bouquet. Silky tannins and deceptively mid-weight structure are some of the signatures. Stylistically, Beauséjour is one of the most aromatic, understated wines in Saint-Émilion. Bright red-toned fruit, spice and pomegranate unfold with time in the glass.

95-97/100 Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Very few importers in the UK, only 4 I believe - Flint is one of them

Not a wine for me right now personally but very popular on discord. Tom Mann selling with no format premium, which is always helpful

Balanced and textural, restrained power with slow and steady unrolling. Floral nuances, crayon and graphite, crushed rocks, delicious, and full of appellation typicity. 58% new oak, Axel Marchal and Valerie Lavigne consultant winemakers. Drink 2029-2044. 96 pts Jane Anson

The 2025 Batailley marries power with finesse. Crème de cassis, new leather, spice, menthol and lavender caress the palate. The 2025 is quite deep and has great balance. This brooding, potent Pauillac has so much to offer. All it needs is time for the tannins to soften. Drink 2035-2065. 95-97 pts Antonio Galloni, Vinous

A focused and refined red with a linear profile, showing the precision that the acidity and fine-grained tannins bring to this cabernet blend. There is rigor but also underlying juiciness and sophistication. 78% cabernet sauvignon, 19% merlot and 3% petit verdot. 95-96 pts jamessuckling.com

I've posted on here and R/Henryuk a couple of times about wineEP - a largely London centric community that does a lot of events etc and a great way to meet new people

We are running a Southwolds style 2019/2022 Bordeaux tasting at the end of this month and due to timings there have been a couple of drop outs

Just for absolute clarity these are not run for a profit, they're community run at cost or a loss

Wed be very happy if a couple people could attend - it'll be in your sweet spot if you have a decent appreciation of wine and are keen to find out which Bordeaux lines best to your palate

Marginally better price than I expected at 378/6

96-98+/100 | Antonio Galloni - Vinous

The 2025 Pontet-Canet is a wine of exquisite class. Silky, aromatic and vibrant, the 2025 is all finesse. Crushed red/purplish fruit, lavender, rose petal and a gentle hint of spice are all wonderfully knit together. Pontet-Canet is one of the more refined, sublimely beautiful wines of the year. This could turn out even better than my note suggests. Tasted two times.
