Came across this round in a new box. It has tarnishing and slight pitting in the brass. I’ve never dealt with this before. Think it’s safe to shoot?

Has anyone had any luck resubmitting a book for a signature authentication that failed the first time but passed the second time I’ve looked at multiple signatures and they look very similar to me.

I bought this cookbook at a thrift store. I got it home and saw an inscription and autograph. But why does it say sample? Does this add value or devalue the significance.
