What are the German movies that basically everyone in Germany has seen?

I’m trying to get a little deeper into German culture, and I realised I know almost nothing about German movies.

I’m not necessarily looking for the objectively best German films or award-winning cinema. I’m more curious about the movies that are part of the cultural vocabulary here. The classics, cult movies, comedies people still quote, films you grew up watching, or the ones where Germans are surprised if you say you’ve never seen them.

Basically, if someone moved to Germany and wanted a German movie watchlist to understand the culture a little better, what would you put on it?

Would love to know your must-watch picks, and especially why you think they belong on the list.

My German roommates have never tried Indian food… would you be up for a food exchange?

I recently found out that both of my German roommates have somehow never tried Indian food.
Which genuinely surprised me because I always assumed Indian food was pretty common here 😭
I’m from India, currently living around Bonn,Germany, and I absolutely love cooking and baking. And this got me thinking…

Would anyone actually be interested in doing a little food/skill exchange?
I cook something Indian for you, maybe a dish you’ve always wanted to try, and in return you teach me something.

Could be a recipe from your family, something from your country, how to bake proper German bread, a random skill you’re strangely good at… literally anything.

I think it could be a really nice way to meet people and learn things from each other. Would anyone here actually be up for something like this?

What eye makeup would suit me? Kajal always makes my eyes look smaller 😭

I genuinely have no idea what to do with my eyes makeup-wise. Most days I just wear mascara because whenever I put kajal on my waterline, my eyes somehow look much smaller.

I’d love to experiment more but I don’t know what would actually suit my eye shape. Should I try eyeliner, eyeshadow, coloured kajal, brown liner, tightlining, etc.? And what colours do you think would look good on me?

Would really appreciate specific product/shade recommendations or techniques I can try. I’m attaching a close-up of my eyes with just mascara so you can see the shape properly. 🥹🫶
