I’m p active on the oculus quest and virtual reality subs. There has been a crazy influx of people porting things like half life 2, vice city, original Medal of Honor, super Mario 64 and Morrowind to the quest standalone. I think a lot of this is people using Claude code or something similar to do a lot of the tedious work and then refining the result. Curious if anyone with the tech skills knows how feasible it would be to port uru into a standalone quest version. The headset can absolutely handle the game itself and there is an open source version of the plasma engine (openuru) so I think it’s possible. Anyone have any opinions? Obviously private multiplayer servers would be amazing but I’d even be happy to explore the cavern in VR single player.

I’m losing my mind trying to figure it out. Main protagonist is a woman who can’t hear so there’s basically not any dialogue in the film. I remember she loses her eye to this weird dust storm thing that occasionally happens so she puts a piece of paper with an eye drawn over it on that lost eye. It’s very colorful and almost a terry gilliam way (he wasn’t involved tho) and the characters have these blinking green lights on them that turn red when they’re about to die

So I think you know where this is going. I went to the theatre all revved up to see matrix resurrections assuming there would be something philosophical or at least substantial to digest and got about 20 min in before it felt like a straight to dvd Disney sequel. People say hey this is Lana giving the middle finger to Warner brothers but that feels like a lazy troll to me. You gave the middle finger to people who supported you and got you where you’re at

I watch the original trilogy (yes even the second two) and there’s genuine effort there. Philosophy and trying to tell a story. “We’re not here because we’re free we’re here because we’re not free”. It’s not perfect but damn there’s some meat on the bones

Fast forward to this new movie and holy shit. All the old school beautifully choreograph fights that were like watching a violent ballet dance are now just shakey cam low effort action movie sequences w angry alpha male bros fighting at a bar. “Swarm mode is sick funsies” -the new bad guy who is gay coded because gay people are baddies now ? not the deep state ok

Yes I understand the studio that made you ultra rich wants another movie and you want to lounge at your mansion instead of deal with executives. You could have done something subversive that didn’t feel like a Disneyland ride. You could have given the middle finger to WB and still made something good. People asked you for a reunion tour and instead of having creative integrity or saying no you showed up and shit all over your fans because you’re mad?

Enjoy your money Lana. I hope it was cathartic for you but not everything is some narcissistic personal journey. Destroying a franchise because you’re making a statement would land better if it wasn’t the thing that made you rich and comfortable in the first place. You didn’t take down Warner brothers you just depressed all the fans who supported your journey.

I think a lot of people viewed it all as some trans allegory (but about a straight couple w a gay villain?) and I’m happy Lana feels better in her body now. I like Lana and think she’s charming as fuck
But damn, you got mad the studio that made you famous asked you for another movie? What’s your actual statement. That you’re rich enough to not care about your career anymore? That once you achieve success it’s just all about you and fuck everyone else? I don’t get it

To anyone who liked it did you actually like the movie or is this some sort of emotionally exposition of hostility installation art to you? Genuinely I’m not just tryna hate but damn I think it’s on the top 5 worst films I’ve ever seen and it just made me really sad.

Like ok then let them go ahead without you if you aren’t interested anymore. Why ruin it for everyone else just because you can’t handle being the center of attention for a moment? I guess I’m being a big baby about it because I wanted another matrix movie and felt like a got a twitter post about corporations being bad. Yes we know but it feels like you took my money at the end of the day
