[Offer] Christmas cards from Santa's Post Office [ww]

This early Christmas card offer is for active RAoC members who have solid flair (have sent over 100 cards) and who are not planning on moving this year.

I'm planning on sending cards from the Santa Claus' Main Post Office on the Arctic Circle soon. It's a tourist destination and a gift shop, but also the only official Santa Claus' Post Office, and a part of the Finnish postal services.

In addition to a regular mailbox, they have a box for Christmas mail - all cards dropped there will be held and sent for Christmas. All cards sent from the post office will be postmarked with a special Arctic Circle postmark.

Caveat! I'm not 100% sure, but the cards I have on hand for this offer might be AI cards. They're cute cards, but they're from a box set with no mention of the illustrator, and there's something about some of them that makes me a little suspicious.

There's a chance these cards will arrive after Christmas. I will send them in economy class to save on postage.

I have Christmas stamps, but can't do stamp math in case postage goes up, and to leave space for the special postmark.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to delete the form entries by users with no or low flair. Thanks for understanding.

Anyway, if you'd like a card in December or possibly later, please leave a comment and fill in the form. Comments help me and others keep track of how many cards are claimed. I can do about 20 cards for now.

In case I already sent you a card from the Arctic Circle last year... Feel free to request one again!

Edit. link removed

Apologies, but I've deleted the entries from low / no flair members. More than happy to exchange some other time, though!

Because the delivery time of these cards is longer than usual, I want to prioritize active RAoC members who are still likely to be involved with this hobby six months from now.

Recent outgoing

I haven't had a lot of time to write recently, so I was happy to be able to send this much mail this week.

Swedish stamp haul

I used up most of my Swedish stamps, so I picked up a couple of new sheets for the next time I visit.

I forgot to take a picture of the outgoing stamps in action, but enjoy this picture of a postbox next to the IKEA parking lot instead.

Swedish stamp math

Dusting off my Swedish stamps, since I'm planning a day trip soon.

I find their current international stamp designs somewhat boring, but love these domestic "brev" (letter) stamps.

Luckily the stamp math is very easy, two domestic stamps equals international postage!

Changes in the prices of stamps in Finland

Finnish Post will increase stamp prices from June onwards. Not a big surprise, it's been about a year since the previous increase.

Domestic / international economy will increase from 2,75 € to 3 €. International priority will increase from 3,05 € to 3,35 €.

My favorite part of the Finnish Post press release is:

"Finnish consumers spend, on average, less than EUR 20 per year on sending letters. For them, the price adjustments will mean a small increase of approximately EUR 2 per year. " 🫠

Today's outgoing mail in the picture, featuring mainly vintage stamps.
