Motivation for avoiding junk foods?

I live with my parents and I want to lose weight. I’ve started working out and so far that’s going well. My main struggle is avoiding junk foods at the house. My parents buy snacks often and I can stay away from the savory ones but my sweet tooth is soooo bad. Does anyone have any tips for tricking your brain to stay away from foods like this? I know the main thing is to have self control but if anyone has any actual tricks that worked for them I would love to hear them lol

25th Birthday Party Ideas?

Hi everyone!

My 25th birthday is one month from today (!) and I was looking for some recommendations on a place to celebrate! For context, there will be a group of about 4 or 5 of us and we’re all girls. I’m not looking to go out like clubbing or anything crazy, just not my scene lately. I was thinking more along the lines of getting a bite to eat and some drinks in a place with a good vibe and ambiance. Not too formal but not too casual either. Inexpensive would definitely be preferred. Somewhere that’s comfortable to just hang out and chit chat and have a good time for a couple of hours. Then if we feel like going out after we get some drinks in us, we’ll see where the night ends up lol. Thank you in advance!

A Fiction Book About Greek Mythology

I have read the original epic poems, The Odyssey and The Iliad by Homer as as well as some other shorter stories from that time period. I am super into Greek mythology and after watching the Odyssey in theaters recently I’m craving a fiction book that is in that realm. I have read Song of Achilles and I really enjoyed it and Circe by the same author is on my TBR. Just wondering if anyone has any other similar recommendations!

I am open to new stories that I have not read yet or recounts of The Odyssey and The Iliad written in a more modern way, as I read the both of them for a college course and while they are the reason that I discovered my interest in Greek mythology, they are definitely not an easy read lol

TIA!

I can’t afford to move out

I’m a single mom and my daughter’s only parent. Her dad is not on the birth certificate whatsoever and I don’t receive any child support from him. She is 2.5 and we live with my parents. She adores her grandparents, and they love her. They have been so helpful and supportive throughout my entire pregnancy and her life. I love them, but they have so many problems with each other. My whole life they have been off and on. So in love you’d think they’re teenagers in their first relationship one minute, then despising each other and saying mean things to each other and making irrational decisions the next. It really triggers me to live with them whenever they are going through fights because I feel like that child again that is trying to sense everyone’s emotions. I feel so stuck because while I have a good job, I can’t afford to move out and do well (we would be barely scraping by). We have a good set up at my parents house, but when they are having their problems I get so stressed out. I’m already dealing with so much as a single mom and only parent that this added stress makes me feel like a shell of a person. If I did move out, I would probably have to sell my car for a cheaper car note, sell my furniture, and way downsize because I could barely afford a one bedroom in my area. I don’t know at this point I feel like I’m rambling. I just want to do right by my baby and not subject her to the same childhood I had.
