Flex Time PTO exists for employees to take time off when they need it. As long as you have the hours you can use them.

I have over 30 hours. According to my boss anyone who takes it is a complete piece of shit and not “a team player”.

Edit: quite a few people are saying I didn’t give enough notice for taking the day off. Company policy is as follows. Regular pto requires at least 2 weeks for notice. Flex pto requires at least 2 hours before start of shift. Flex is there specifically for situations like this.
