They need to either nerf attackers being able to defend or heavily boost defenders ability to dribble and pass

Lengthy, 99 dribbling with marksman, and ST... might be ratty but she's great for my USA evos
How many times do you try a simple 5 yard pass, but it ends up going 30 to someone who's either offsides or behind 3 defenders?
Also, does anyone else's players take a split second longer to release the pass right when the player you're passing to barely goes offsides?
What are the best passing settings in game, I'm using basically everything on semi but it is rough out here...
