I was told by an exec in the music industry that artists aren’t mastering their songs anymore unless they’re doing a vinyl pressing.

This is wildly incorrect, right? Unless this is some new revelation, it seems like mastering your music is completely necessary. It’s basically the glue to hold it all together. Any more insight on this or is this take as wrong as I think it is?

I have never heard anyone speak like Frank.

I can’t recall a single time I’ve ever heard him speak in an interview of any kind where there’s any hesitation about what he says. Like I’ve ever heard an “um” or “uhhh” or anything that would interrupt the flow of the point he was making. It’s an incredible skill to possess. Just an observation.

Best and worst wrestling game soundtracks

I’m going SvR for best. Probably strictly from a nostalgia perspective but I love that soundtrack.

Legends of Wrestling 2 might be my vote for worst. I like a majority of those songs still, but it doesn’t fit the vibe of the game at all. Like when I think of Andre, the Von Erich family, etc… Trapt or The Used isn’t the first music I think of.

Original Versions vs NINoize

Now that a little time has gone by and I’ve lived with the new versions for a little while, I’m prepared to say which versions I prefer the new versions of over the originals. Not to say the originals don’t have their place or meaning, because duh. Of course they do. But if I’m picking a version to listen to, the NINz versions win for…

Vessel

Heresy

Parasite

Memorabilia

I feel these are the best “standalone” versions of these songs. Some of the new mixes are still neck and neck with the originals too though.. Warning, Me I’m Not, Closer… strictly my opinion though.

I can’t get over how much I truly enjoy this release though. I’m still hoping for some bonus tracks that got played on the PIB tour but didn’t make the album, but I’m not getting my hopes too high.

Anybody else have a preference between the 2 versions?

So, I'm using Showcase for backing tracks. I have a couple songs that start with a droning synth loop. The song counts in, the drone starts to swell in, first marker at the start of the loop, set marker to loop infinitely. The problem is that when the loop restarts, there's a small gap in audio when it cycles. The drone was created to be a perfect 2 bar loop at 94 BPM. I've run it in Ableton, MainStage, etc with no issues. So I'm not sure where the gap is coming unless it's from Showcase. I have other songs that have musical elements that I loop at the top of other songs as well that don't have the same gap issue. Any ideas about this or is it just something I'd need to hope for an update for in a future firmware update? I appreciate any help! Thanks!
