Germany wishlist haul (Rossmann/DM)

Not pictured: Oxygen bleach powder, my extra two bottles of the Domol white and universal oxi powders that I already brought upstairs. And the Denkmit perfume pearls I did not actually like :(

I ended up making the 39 min drive to the German border to acquire the rest of the stuff in my wishlist from my previous post. Yes I got backups because my spirit animal is a squirrel. No regrets.

I already tested the Domol Vollwaschmittel and the Domol white oxi powders to brighten my whites (with a pre-soak of 1h with white oxi powder and the color sensitive powder to get rid of the stains) and it was amazing. My white shirt that had become yellow from well water and my dirty looking socks became brand new.

Also already tried the liquid Denkmit detergent which had DNase and Lipase as well and it’s super nice. The ox gall soap finally removed the lasagna stains from my favorite pyjamas.

I was curious about Ariel universal and color powder but I was not a fan of the smell. Persil smell was also not my thing. I might one day buy though because I experience FOMO and I’d rather regret buying it than not ever knowing. (Yes, I’m that type of person).

Luxembourg has outrageous prices for laundry products and most are not even great, a bunch of expensive pods and endless liquids that smell awful. I feel lucky to live next to Germany.

My next purchase will be the Sonett Laundry Rinse. My dream acquirement would be some Downy Rinse though :p

My current stash and wishlist after joining (EU)

My life has changed. I identify as a laundry fairy every Sunday now. I would like to never go back.I still use lenor scent beads sparingly as a way to soothe myself. I have never used pods/sheets/fabric softener nonsense and stuck to powders that didn’t smell bad so my clothes recovered fast.

My wishlist is mainly that I want to try the Domol Vollwaschmittel version which has bleach along with the domol white stain booster to brighten my whites again. The domol universal is superior to the DM one so I want to have that in hand. The extra liquid is because it has all the enzimes and smells niiice. Also need Gallseife next time.

May or may not have written a message to Rossmann begging them to bring out an equivalent to Downy Rinse and Refresh for us. Pray with me.

I’m definitely converted!

If anyone has more recs or opinions, pls don’t hesitate!

A perfume that smells like this?

I’m quite possibly obsessed and basically want my soul to smell like this Fenjal Intensiv range. I love the body lotion (so moisturising yet not greasy and absorbs well, the shower gel is just as lovely and not drying at all) and would love to find a fragrance that smells like it.

I will get the body oil soon to see if it helps with making it last longer. If you haven’t smelled this yet, it is a creamy, sweet floral scent that smells clean and comforting, like a warm hug.

Please give me insights if anyone knows!

Shiseido Mauve Quartz + Swatches of Greige Topaz

I posted about Shiseido Mauve Quartz blush and I’m happy to report that I’m absolutely in love with this shade! It is a perfectly neutral to cool mauve pink shade that is very muted and does not pull warm or peachy at all (do note that it is NOT lavender or white based, so it will not be the type of super cool purple shades people here like).

I’m a neutral to cool olive (currently LE Tint in T9 is my perfect match, T5 is my winter shade) and you can see it heavily applied on my cheek in the third pic.

The product does not swatch very well but it does apply perfectly with a brush and is buildable while not being too sheer. It is easy and seamless to use in this way.

It became my favorite blush almost immediately. It is such a flattering, cute shade that replicates my natural blush in an understated way that makes me feel healthy, girly and still natural. It lasts the whole day but does fade a bit in the current heatwave.

In the other pics you may see Greige Topaz swatched. In the last pic I swatched it against Anastasia Golden Beach Glow (closest to wrist) which is more golden, more vibrant and warmer compared to it. I’m not a big fan of bronzer but I’d buy this in the future.

Shiseido Color + Glow Enhancer in Mauve Quartz and Greige Topaz

Sorry for the repost, reddit removed my previous one after I tried to link an extra swatch (included in the screenshots).

Has anyone tried these?

They look very olive friendly and quite muted, which I believe would work well for olives on the neutral and cool side as well.

I am tempted to blind buy but will try to find it in store and swatch.

I’m not in the US and in Europe it seems harder to find a community interest in buying used makeup items that cater specifically to us olives… Where do you guys sell or buy some too?

Salicylic Acid: The solution to my dandruff / seborrheic dermatitis.

Hi all,

I managed to find a solution for my seborrheic dermatitis / dandruff which I have suffered with since I was a child and wanted to share here since I often see recommendations requests for dandruff issues.

SD has been a bane in my existence for a long time. As if having to deal with the embarrassment of the flakes was not enough, this condition also causes my hair to fall out if not addressed properly and also extremely itchy scalp. I have tried an endless amount of dandruff shampoos which have given me mediocre results or if successful, never last for long. I also like to have my hair very long, and all these shampoos are so drying that it is damaging and drying for the length in the long term.

When I get patches of SD on my nape and ears from stress, I found out by accident that Clearasil pads work really well in clearing those out in just a few days. I have also noticed that a lot of anti-dandruff shampoos these days contain salicylic acid, and this type has worked for me with varying success, but it wasn’t until it finally clicked in my head that I could just be using exfoliating toners with salicylic acid as a leave on scalp treatment that my dandruff and SD problems went away.

I started with The Ordinary 0.5% body salicylic acid because it’s over 200ml and by the third application, I no longer had any itchiness, dandruff or SD active. I switched to the Balea 2% version because it was cheaper per ml and it works just as well, but I transfer it to the empty TO bottle because it is easier to apply that way. I rebuy whichever is more convenient or cheaper at the time.

The application is simple:

I wash my hair twice with shampoo to make sure my scalp is thoroughly cleaned and after leaving the shower, I apply the toner all over my scalp and massage it for a few seconds. This process is repeated every other day or every two days max as I have oily scalp and going longer between washes looks horrid and makes my hair fall out. I use a clarifying detox shampoo once a week for a deeper cleanse and reset.

That’s it.

I wouldn’t call this a “cure” because if I stop using it, the dandruff/SD comes back eventually. But it is the best treatment I have found so far.

Yes, it is more expensive than dandruff shampoo because I go through a bottle every 4-6 weeks (I have a big head, oh well). But it is worth the investment, the peace of mind, and the tranquility I have in my life by no longer having to deal with these issues anymore.

I hope this is helpful to others who struggle with the same issues. :)

New olive shades for BeNeLux girlies! BE Diamond Glow Foundation from ICIPARISXL

For those of us living in the Benelux area or with access to an ICIPARISXL store, their new BE foundation “Diamond Dew Glow” seems to have quite a few olive shades even though the overall selection is not great.

I’m especially interested in shades 003 neutral olive and 006 neutral warm to mix together. I won’t able to swatch yet but if anyone else has easier access to this store, please check out for us? :)
