Zwift at 140kg?

I switched from ebike to titanium gravel bike earlier this year, and I’d like to keep riding when the bad weather turns up as Autumn approaches, but at 140kg I’m not sure what options I have as many normal options (e.g. Wahoo Kickr) are not rated that high.

It would be preferable to use my bike as I’ve put effort into getting it to fit me well and be comfortable, but tbh whatever works.

Any advice, please? Budget would probably be relevant but for the purposes of this exercise perhaps ignore it initially.

Flaking above crown race on carbon fork

I’ve been trying to diagnose a creak from the front of my bike. It only happens on bumpy ground but does not depend on my weight being on the bars.

Anyway, when I pulled the fork out (intention being to just clean, re-grease and re-assemble everything) I saw this “flaking” just above the crown race.

I’ve now put it all back together but does anyone recognise this and can tell me what it is? Only at the front … nothing around the other sides.

Basically never camped … always get bad insect bites. Still doable?

Insects love me and I often react badly to the bites. Are there ways to mitigate this issue that mean camping is viable for me, or is it simply unavoidable?

EDIT: That was way too lacking in detail. I just meant that the bites swell up a lot and are super itchy. I don’t have a true allergic reaction by any means.

GRX levers and Hope calipers … how to replace the hoses

I’m getting some Redshift Top Shelf handlebars and I’m fairly sure I’m going to need to extend the brake hoses to work with the increased stack.

I have GRX wireless Di2 levers (both sides, although only a 1x drivetrain) and Hope RX4+ calipers.

My experience of working with hydraulic brakes is bleeding my full-Shimano ones on my old hybrid e-bike, so I’m not an expert here, but I’m fairly sure I should be able to fit new hoses with care and time.

Can I please get some advice on what to buy and any tips on installing this?

I’ve seen a Clarks brake hose tool and I believe I’ll just need a pair of hoses but I’m a bit confused about the connectors at the ends. By my understanding the Shimano lever end stuff should come with the hose kit but I’ll need new Hope olives and connectors?

Advice very welcome here. Out of my depth but keen to once again extend my home mechanic knowledge the hard way.

Clamping my bike

I see much advice on only using the seatpost to clamp your bike on a workstand but I simply don’t have enough spare to fit my clamp onto. This is partly because I have a suspension seat post which takes up some of the space, and I also have my Garmin radar fitted to it and am not super keen on having to remove and reattach that every time I wash or fiddle with my bike.

I have a titanium frame. Is it ok to clamp it on the top tube?

First ever power meter (pedals) … advice for bike computer screen?

I’ve just bought (please don’t tell me wife … seriously, she doesn’t need to know) some SPD power meter pedals. I also have a Garmin Edge 1050 bike computer.

Can you please advise me what data fields are actually useful? There seem to be so many available. Are there any 3rd party screens/apps I should be considering?

Advice greatly appreciated.
