The announcement about his next audiobook project, mentioned on this Reddit post, starts a bit clickbait-y in the title, Andy Weir's Next Sci-Fi Epic Officially Arrives in 3 Months, then is downhill from there:

• Weir is the executive producer for the new Audible Original Exoplanet, written by The Ninth Metal and Red Moon author Benjamin Percy.
• Andy Weir’s stories transform rigorous science into big-hearted thrill rides with heart-stopping action and intense human emotion,

The article gives absolute no detail about his actual involvement as executive producer. Doing some research, there are a number of different types of executive producer, and the closest that I can find based on the announcement, is honorary executive producer: Awarded to key figures (e.g. original book authors or legendary film makers attached as mentors) for marketing leverage.

I reached out to Andy and he gave the following as context (and confirmation that I may post it publicly):

"I didn't write the story, but it's part of a new series that we are launching where I am executive producer. I approve the stories, I give notes and feedback and they change things until I'm happy with it. And my contract says I have the right to just dunk a story I don't like. So I'm planning to keep the quality high on these.

Exoplanet is an excellent story in my opinion."
