Late night recs?

I have a concert tomorrow that finishes around 10pm. I was wondering if anyone knew any good places that’s still open past 11pm where one could sit in and just enjoy a nice meal around central London. Or around Greenwhich would be even better. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy ahaha, just good food is all that’s the requirement :)

Do you ever really get over them?

I (22F) and this guy (22M) have been flitting in and out of each other's lives for the past 3 years. primarily because we go to the same uni building so even though we're technically 'broken up', we've always been in each other's orbit. however he's due to finally move 2 hours away and start a new job.

this time, we agreed we were going to be friends as we don't want to be out of each other's lives. I still have feelings for him tbh, but I know that given our history and baggage, I don't have the mental capacity to be in a relationship with him and he just doesn't have the mental capacity to be in a relationship full stop. I told him I would like to be friends, but I would need some time and space where we don't really talk for a while so I can just focus on myself and the feelings can mellow out. it makes me sad tbh not being in contact with him, but I know its necessary.

But see, 3 years is a long time. I've entertained a few people here and there in the times we've been broken up but nothing has ever come close to the feeling of falling for him the first time around, or the safety I get when around him. I worry that I'm always going to compare and because of that I'll never fully open myself to someone new and give other people a chance. I worry that the 'potential' of what me and this guy could have been will always linger in the back of my mind, enough to keep me 'hooked'. He's a good guy, but god am I ready to just meet someone new. but even despite that, I worry that the what ifs of what could have been will never go away.

Do we ever really get over them? I would like to. I would like to be just friends with him as I know I would like him to be in my life in some capacity, however small. But I don't want to entertain this idea of what we could be any longer. I want to move on.

TL;DR we've been in and out of each other's lives for the last 3 years and this time we fully agreed to be just friends, though I politely asked for NC for a while to let feelings fade. But do we ever really fully get over them? Is that possible? I worry that the 'what ifs' will prevent me from meeting and opening up to someone new.

Just wanted to share this here as I’ve been a long time lurker on this sub and i was too excited about the progress I’ve made and no one to talk about it to irl lmao.

First screenshot is from 17th Feb, avg pace doesn’t even consider the elapsed time where I kept pausing to walk. If it did the time would have been 10:41km/min.

Second screenshot is from my most recent run. Almost 7km straight running, only stopping at the streetlights. it was a tempo run which explains the HR. But towards the last km, i wasn’t looking at my watch and just ended up going faster than i was used to and I remember thinking “let’s see how long i can maintain this for” and i just kept running and running (i lowkey felt like i was flying through the city centre ahaha) and i maintained it for the entirety of the last km!!! Imagine my surprise when i finally looked at my watch and saw that pace too !!! I just remember being so excited and proud.

But probably more so than anything else, the thing I’m most excited about is that i think my legs and joints and knees have finally adapted to running. For the first month and a half I could only do max 2 runs per week: recovery always took ages, I’d always be limping even days after a run, knees and shins made it their personal agenda to make themselves known after every run. I’d do everything i could to lessen the pain with stretching and adding in more strength training to strengthen my legs, but the residual aches and soreness were just never ending.

They always say your joints and knees take much longer than your lungs to adapt to running. And I’ve been on 5 runs in the last two weeks so far and besides some minimal soreness, my legs generally feel like they could keep going. I think they’ve adapted!! I’m just so excited about this bc this means i can finally be much more consistent with my runs and i can keep going.
