I’ve grounded my D328 I’m the right place finally. Much better signal to noise. Spain on 15500 in Toronto 19:35 UTC.

Messing around with the R9012 and an old BFO I had laying around. WJHR 15555 in Toronto. Radio drifts too much to get SSB reliably,

Still, fun little experiment.

D901 with added ground wire does pull in Spain much better in Toronto on 15500 than the R-9012

Spain on 15550 I think in Toronto around 00:10 utc. Tamed the R-9012 analog with a ground and a z-match tuner

Fledgling ….. Eastern Kingbird? Lots of them around along with Gray Catbirds and Red Wing Blackbirds. Vaughan Ontario.

Sorry for the lousy photos. Very gar away.

Just for fun, Radio Republica on 31 meters on the wee analog Tecsun, (added ground lead) Toronto 02:50utc.

Definitely need to change the low pass filter cap.

Disappointed: My Tecsun PL-880 is suddenly suffering from hearing loss. Above 12 MHz the sensitivity severely declines. Tried different antennas but result is the same. Compared to D808 and D-109: 13.5 MHz is -3dB, 15.5 MHz is -6dB, 17.7 MHz is -20dB. Totally deaf at 27 MHz. I think I might know why

The protection diodes are on the wrong side of the antenna jack. As you plug in an external antenna, they disconnect, leaving the radio helpless against ESD. Now I have to figure out what component is blown but everything is so tiny. Argh!

Two radios using the SI4825 chip. D328 and homebrew. 31 meters, Toronto around 02:35 utc. Passive loop, 20x4 feet

Very similar schematics. Homebrew had a common mode choke on the battery, RF ground and digital and analog grounds are separated with chokes, 3.7 uh shunt inductor on the antenna input. I think it makes a difference.
