Help with a 5.5 warlock

Hi everyone! I've been playing for a long time. The last two characters i've played are a fighter/barbarian (the campaign lasted 2 years) and a paladin (the campaign is still ongoing and is projected to last 3 years or 3 years and a half).

For our next campaign i was thinking of playing a rogue initially, but in the last few sessions i've started to crave a more spell casting leaning class, the last time i played a caster was something like 6 years ago. Most full casters are out for various reasons, i don't want to play a wizard but i want to play an intelligence character, my master allows for warlock to use intelligence instead of charisma so i was thinking of going this route.

So i want to ask you some fun ideas for building an int warlock. The "rules" are:

  1. I was thinking of going human

  2. i can multiclass but not more than two classes total so x warlock/y something else

  3. i don't want to play a pact of the blade warlock as i've played enough martials in the last few years.

  4. the campaign will go most probably from level 3 to 16.

  5. i don't need a fully optimized build, i'm looking for something efficient and fun

Barbarian Revised by Rickon (v1.0)

Another revision, in the last few days i feel really productive, i hope you all like it (or don't and give me feedback to make it better!)

Disclaimer: I used chatgpt to help organize the material and polish the english wording of the features. English is not my first language, and i wasn’t confident enough with D&D rules language. The design ideas are mine, but i prefer to be completely transparent about the process.

Quick Changelog:

  • Rage: added a Barbarian save DC: 8 + PB + Strength modifier.
  • Reckless Attack: folded into Reckless Challenge and now functions only while raging.
  • New Level 2 feature — Infectious Anger: when you hit with a Strength-based attack while benefiting from Reckless Attack, you can force a Wisdom save; on a failure, the target has Disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than you.
  • Feral Instinct: now also lets you regain 1 expended Rage use when you roll Initiative, once per Long Rest.
  • Brutal Strike: no longer requires you to forgo Advantage; instead, it triggers when you use Infectious Anger.
  • Brutal Strike damage: changed to 1d8 at level 9, scaling to 2d8 at level 13 and 3d8 at level 17.
  • New Level 10 feature — Titanic Grip: you can grapple creatures up to two sizes larger than you.
  • Relentless Rage: reworked. While raging, you are immune to Charmed and Frightened; once per Long Rest, when you would drop to 0 HP, you can expend a Rage use to instead go to 4 × Barbarian level HP. If you weren’t raging, you enter Rage immediately.
  • Improved Brutal Strike, level 13: Reworked with infectious anger in mind
  • Persistent Rage renamed to Unrelenting Rage.
  • Unrelenting Rage: Rage lasts 10 minutes without needing to be extended round by round.
  • Unrelenting Rage: when Feral Instinct restores a Rage use, it now restores all expended Rage uses instead.
  • Unrelenting Rage: creatures other than you have Advantage on saving throws against effects created by a creature affected by your Infectious Anger.
  • Improved Brutal Strike, level 17: Reworked with infectious anger in mind
  • Indomitable Might: fully reworked.

Rogue Revised by Rickon (v1.0)

Ciao a tutti!

Edit: Changelog

  • Added a new class resource, currently called Edge Points. They scale from 2 to 5 uses over the class progression, recover fully on a Long Rest, and partially on a Short Rest.

  • Added Exploit Opening at level 2: as a Bonus Action, the Rogue can spend 1 Edge Point to make an extra attack. If it qualifies for Sneak Attack, it can deal Sneak Attack damage even if Sneak Attack was already used that turn.

  • Removed Steady Aim at level 3.

  • Subclass progression is now level 3, 7, 13, and 17.

  • Reworked Cunning Strike at level 5. It no longer spends Sneak Attack dice. Instead, the Rogue spends 1 Edge Point after hitting with Sneak Attack, deals extra damage equal to half their Sneak Attack dice rounded up, and applies one of several effects.

  • Moved Evasion from level 7 to level 6.

  • Removed Reliable Talent.

  • Moved the second subclass feature from level 9 to level 7.

  • Added Quick Mind at level 9, replacing Reliable Talent. The Rogue can take the Study, Search, or Influence action as a Bonus Action.

  • Reworked Improved Cunning Strike at level 11:

    • If Exploit Opening misses, the Edge Point is refunded.
    • If the target can’t see the Rogue, it has Disadvantage on the saving throw against the Rogue’s Cunning Strike option.
  • Reworked Devious Strikes at level 14 into two new Cunning Strike options:

    • Debilitate: Constitution save or gain 1 Exhaustion level.
    • Disorient: Wisdom save or, until the end of its next turn, the target can either move, take an Action, or take a Bonus Action, choosing only one. It also has Disadvantage on Constitution saves to maintain Concentration during that time.
  • Replaced Stroke of Luck with Perfect Opportunist at level 20
