How annoying is it to change your phone number?

Besides all of the two factor authentication stuff and like changing with your bank and credit cards, is there anything really really annoying about changing your phone number as an adult that I’m not thinking of? I’ve had my number for 15+ years, but in the past 6/7 years, it’s become almost unusable because of all the political spam. (I’ve tried every possible way to stop the political spam, nothing works, and I kind of want a new number anyway)

Is it normal for landlords to ask for your personal information before letting you view an apartment or even responding to other questions?

I’m moving back home to LA this fall after 5 years abroad to start grad school and looking for apartments in the areas I’ve always lived/where my family lives (Eagle Rock/HLP/Pasadena/Glendale). I’m finding that a lot of landlords/property managers insist on knowing things like my income and credit score before even answering me if the place is still available/answering any other questions I asked in my original message. Wouldn’t I share that info once I’ve seen the place and know for sure I want to apply for it? Is this normal now? My last place in LA had a really sweet couple as landlords and they were like normal and didn’t ask me any of this kind of stuff until I filled out my application after viewing the apartment.
