Wimbledon Gym

I've recently read about the planned expansions in Richmond and Battersea in another post. I think the Wimbledon one would warrant a expansion too. I've been a member there since it opened and it has gotten crazy busy over the past year. It's probably their best and also largest and still it's packed and the spa is unpleasantly busy most of times.

Hopefully someone from TS reads this, there is also plenty of space in the Centre Court for expansion.

METAXY today

What crowd are we expecting from this first event in the new METAXY series that Fold is doing today? I wasn't planning to go but noticed they market it as something in between Fold and Unfold. Besides this the lineup looks sick with Chami and Blanka.

Ute.rec event

Just got home from this event, I found it awesome, especially the live set from Trancesetters of Westphalia. The closing set was also quite good, though I think it was leaning a bit too much on the house side for me. What are your thoughts? Also, after several disappointing Saturdays earlier this year, I tried something new on this occasion and got there at 4am to avoid the tourist crowd. This is the way to go, the crowd was very nice afterwards.

Rave this weekend

Hi, 29M here. Anyone looking too go to Indigaura at Gaffe on Friday or Ute.rec at Fold on Saturday and willing to meet up? My rave friends are unavailable and I'd hate to miss out on a weekend with such nice events (and cooler temperatures).

The politics of Fusion

This was my first fusion but I am very much aware of it's values and political stance. And I think it's great such a community can be formed, with the artists, staff, bars and food vendors, alongside guests. However, I saw one sign with мир written on it, it was around the Kino area. мир means peace or world and has been heavily used by Putin's regime in the context of русский мир ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian\_world ), which is the main form of neo imperialism today, causing great harm to people and environment. I found this a bit disturbing and at odds with the stance this festival takes.

I don't think I need to explain why this is a bit hypocritical and why, even though they are fighting against a capitalist backed Ukraine, this is not what should get our support, even if just tangentially.

Freddy K and D. Dan at the Cause

Not (UN)FOLD related but I assume a few of the regulars attended this event. What do you think?

I've been super excited for this since it was announced but I found it very disappointing and among the worst raves I've been to. The music was great, as expected from that insane lineup. But everything else was horrible. The crowd was as you would expect at a day party but going into the night everyone was very high and pushy.

But the worst thing was the venue itself. While on its own every room was pretty cool, they oversold the event. Once the outdoor stage closed there were huge queues to enter one of the remaining rooms, depending on the djs. Inside the rooms there was a constant flow of people going in and out, with no nice space left to loose yourself. Or if there was, the sound was bad. Both rooms have suboptimal shapes too, the Warehouse was quite wide and the Workshop was too long. Not to mention one food stall for a 17h event with probably 2000 people and the water also ran out.

Safe Area

Hey, so this year is my first Fusion. I'll also be spending the week before in Berlin and some of it for work so I'll have my laptop with me. I saw in the FAQs that there is a "Safe Area" but do they allow storing a laptop bag for the entire festival duration? I always try to avoid being in such a situation at festivals as things get stolen from tents but on this occasion it's logistically challenging. Thanks!

I came across this event happening in June https://ra.co/events/2374075. It's a ridiculously good lineup so I'd like to go. However, I've not been to the Cause before, how is the space, are there chill areas? Does it have a good sound system? Probably this is more event driven but what crowd does the venue normally get?
