Shout out to the Jagged Edge vinyl samplers that never get enough love

It still hurts that classic Jagged Edge albums like “J.E. Heartbreak” and “A Jagged Era” never got proper vinyl releases. Two of the most iconic R&B albums of that era and somehow still missing on vinyl.

But honestly, shoutout to the promo vinyl samplers they released back then. No full tracklist, no cover art… but they’re basically the only way we can still enjoy parts of these records on vinyl today.

I recently got the “J.E. Heartbreak” sampler and believe me when I say the sound quality is amazing. Super affordable too compared to the crazy prices vinyl goes for today.

Feel like these sampler editions never really get talked about and deserve way more appreciation from collectors and R&B fans.

Does anyone here have any information or experience with this particular centenary shirt? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What confuses me the most is the sponsor. On most versions of this shirt that I’ve seen, the sponsor looks like a typical heat-pressed vinyl application. However, on mine the sponsor seems to be sublimated directly into the fabric, which I’ve never seen before on this model.

Another thing that makes me doubt it is the internal product code label. When I search the code on Google, it doesn’t directly lead me to this exact shirt.

That said, almost everything else about the jersey feels completely authentic to me.

Because of that, I’m wondering if maybe this was a special production run, player issue version, regional variation, or something similar.

I’d love some help identifying whether this vintage South Africa jersey. From what I can tell, South Africa seemed to use very similar versions of this same jersey template from around 1992 up until roughly 1997, with small variations in details.

Why I think it could be OG:

The shape, cut and overall silhouette match the early 90s Kappa style really well, which was very distinctive at the time. Also, I own another Kappa jersey (Juventus 91), and the feel and quality of the fabric are exactly the same. And finally the collar button this is probably the strongest point in favor of authenticity. One of the collar buttons has the old “Robe di Kappa” engraving, and it really looks like an original vintage button rather than a modern reproduction.

What makes me feel a little skeptical is the neck label. The jersey does not have an original Kappa neck tag. The only label it has is a small size tag, and that is the main thing making me question it.

What do you guys think? Original, match-issued / team-issued variant, or maybe some kind of reproduction? Any help would be appreciated.
