Had the opportunity to pattern test for the Apostrophe Patterns Crossover My Fit Bra. The pattern is tentatively set to release Aug 11th.
I am really pleased with the outcome. The fit is great and they are comfortable to move in.
I used fabrics from Discovery Fabrics, the blue is Caress Athletic and the Orange is Scuba Luxe. All seams completed on serger and top stitched with a zigzag.
I built two in the pattern testing phase, one with the wide racer back option (blue) and one with the narrow racer back option (orange). For both I chose single layer medium coverage medium crossover, princess seams and fabric bands.
I really appreciate the custom fit pattern generation. Several strap options, lined or unlined plush, casing or no elastic for the band, princess seams darts or gathering for the cup, even options if you have two different cup sizes and the ability to enter the stretch percentage of the fabric you are using.
Sneak peak at the new Apostrophe Patterns Crossover Bra tentatively set to release August 11th.
I made these as a pattern tester and I am very pleased with the results.
Both fabrics are from Discovery Fabrics. The blue is in Caress Athletic and it's soft and comfy, easy to move in and more support for an unlined option than I might have suspected.
The Orange is the Scuba Luxe Midweight from the clearance and deadstock page. It is even more supportive and has quickly become my go to for running.

🪡 Fabric is Fabrizio Linen from Discovery Fabrics
🪡 Pattern is McCalls 6864 view C with adjustment and additional pockets
Adjustments:
🧵 Added 2.5" length to the inseam
🧵 Added front and back pockets
To add pockets:
✂️Used a curve to draft the pocket opening.
✂️Right sides together front panel and one side of the pocket bag.
✂️ Serge and straight stitched along opening
✂️Turn and press pocket bag to wrong side of front panel
✂️ Edge stitched along pocket opening.
✂️ Add facings and bonus pocket to the other side of the pocket bag. Note: I used the cut piece from the opening plus 1.5" along the curved edge for facings. I used measurements from existing pants for the watch pocket.
✂️Lined up both sides of the pocket bags
✂️Serged the pocket bag along curved edge and tacked for extra security at both ends of the opening. Then basted into place along the waist and side seams.
✂️Flat mounted rear patch pockets using a template from a past project and then I was ready to close the side seam and add the waistband.
I am pleased with the outcome overall. Glad I made the effort to add the pockets.
Sewed up another Learn MYOG Pack Lite Vest using fabrics and notions from Discovery Fabrics

Note: I faced the bottle pockets with silicone athletic grip fabric this time and it really helped secure the bottles. I was so pleased with it I went back and added this to my last vest. Shown in the second photo

-Stretch woven for the shell

-Magic Yarn Graphene Jersey for the wings and the bottle pockets

- Power mesh for the stretchy pockets

-Zipper tape, sliders, pulls, shock cord, cord locks and webbing also from Discovery

I did get to do a quick summit in it and so far I am quite pleased with both the function and the comfort. I am looking forward to comparing the stretch and non stretch versions in a few activities

I am also considering hacking the pattern to build one with a mesh racer back top for a lighter version for shorter runs.

Side note: the top is me-made with Polartec Delta from Discovery too
This is my second build in this pattern and it's well thought out and very functional. I chose some different fabrics this time around so we will see how they function. This one isn't for me and it's already out in the mountains this morning after I finished it last night.
Pattern is the Pack Lite Vest from LearnMYOG
Fabrics are all from Discovery Fabrics except the blue stretch mesh I used for the wings that was just kicking around in my stash.
-For most shell fabrics I used SunPro Stretch Woven
-The back panel, closest to skin is mid weight power dry rather than shell
-Bottle pockets are Graphene Jersey (I did reinforce the hem at the top of the bottle pockets with elastic)
-Black power mesh for the lycra stretch pockets
-FOE binding in Dresden blue
