I don't know what else to try. I'm trying to de-Amazon my house and my wife is fully on board if I first get the replacement system running right. I started small with two Home Assistant Voice PEs. Literally the only thing I need this to do is play Brown noise for my 18 month through the night without stopping, and occasionally play some music. That's it.

My 12 hour file is locally hosted on my NAS and I have the Music Assistant integration which works great. If I log on to the Music Assistant UI and manually play my file through the Voice PE, it works great, no issues.

If I try and control it with my voice, via the device, is works about 20% of the time, most of the time says "Brown Noise is now playing" or "Done" when it's not, or randomly shuts off in the night despite the file not being done. I've tried adding automations that take my voice command and use it to start an automation, but that has been sketchy as well.

Yes, I could just schedule it to start around bedtime every night, which theoretically would work, but my wife needs to be able to start it at naptime without issues or hassle.

I have my Voice Assistant currently using Home_Way Sage as the Conversation Agent, Whisper for STT, and Piper for TTS. I've also tried running Ollama with Claude running one of the "smaller" models I've seen recommended here and didn't have much luck, it would think for like five minutes and go down 50 different logic paths for simple tasks.

What am I missing here?
