Have just joined club Orange Pi.
I saw a used OPi 6 Plus 32GB on Ebay with case/fan/psu/nvme for a lot less than the new price for this kit, easily 50+% off, couldn't resist.
I am fascinated by the possibilities of what that NPU could be made to do with the right prodding, all of those TOP/S made it feel irresistible, if they can actually be used usefully.
My inclination is to try to use it as a "robot brain" in a simulated environment on my workstation over the network.
What are other people's experience like with this device? I am especially interested in hearing of anyone's experience of low level control of the NPU in c/c++ and of how well NPU interfaces directly with the main system memory.
Thanks in advance for any responses!
Well I didn't know that...
Using a seed from here for an early glaive:
So beat the boss & had the amulet and was ascending, got killed but had Ankh... I resurrected with low health and lots in my way and a few short floors to go, as I resurrected by stairs and had a weapon and armour I thought I would make a run for the exit...
It didn't let me out, I guess because I didn't have the amulet. I wasn't going to survive anyway though no tricks left in the pack and i couldn't get to it anyway. Ah well. I died.
I do wonder though if I had selected a weapon or armour *and* the amulet, would it have been different?
New game creator/engine: Kwyll
I have just brought this for the beta version and thought I would share it here, apologies if this type of post is not allowed. I am not affiliated with Kwyll in any way, I am sharing in case it's of interest to others. Please feel free (obviously) to delete this post if it is inappropriate. - R
Kwyll is a new type of game creator designed with old 8 bit machines in mind, initially the Sinclair ZX Spectrum range of computers from 1982. It is designed to be easy to use, with simple graphics editing features and a friendly graphical programming system, so non-programmers can create games for their favourite retro machines.
Kwyll is currently in beta, available for a reduced priced of $9.99, increasing to $29.99 on release, from Itch.io, so if you're the sort of person who likes to tinker with things early on, and don't mind a few "idiosyncrasies", now's the time to get involved
I think I need to improve my tactics! Screen shot right before stairs as I didn't expect to last long. This time I had blinding darts, paralytic darts, displacing darts, and saved up a number of anti-magic scrolls.
Plate Armour of Affection seems quite handy. As does punching upto 100HP, but the ranged stuff just wore me down, I even had double blessed ankhs but they got blasted away in like 5 moves, I thought I was in a good place at 21...
